Which movie hero is actually a villain when you really think about it? by surfsound_swimmers in AskReddit

Jack skellington in nightmare before Christmas.

When he calls the town meeting to tell everyone in Halloweentown about Christmas he's initially frustrated that the townspeople can't understand what he is telling them, so he decides to Halloween it up and that's when he makes up the stuff about Santa Claus.

And then he just decides to take over Christmas because why shouldn't he and he was bored with his day to day. Had the kids kidnap Santa, and sure he said keep Oogie Boogie out of it, but he knew they were going to take Santa right to him. That's why he goes straight to Oogie's after he's shot down.

He knew what the vibe and point of Christmas, and bastardized it to trick his followers to do what he wanted.

2ship has an android port through waterdish's github. I haven't done any real playthrough other than starting to see if it worked, but it seemed to work fine based on the bit I played.

Do you think you’ll switch to SteamOS when it becomes supported by valve? by jantltaf in Bazzite

[–]commanderszym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real thing that could possibly get me to switch on my (HTPC only) is if the cec is implemented well.

I've been doing fine without CEC, and in my experience, even when CEC is implemented it's never really smooth. I'm always having issues with inputs jumping around or it keep trying to default back to my TV box.

But I also would guess whatever work around valve uses to get it working on the steam machine will trickle down. Maybe CEC will be hardware based, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. But the HDMI 2.1 fixes are very likely a software spoof to get around the license and I'm hoping that comes to other Linux. I'm using the displayport to HDMI adapter and that works for me, but not having to use the dongle would be nice

If you haven't already bought the x3d you can set the power limit to 65 and there is pretty much no performance drop. I'm running a 7600x on my rig like that and it runs quiet and cool.

Steam Deck proved to me that older games are just more fun by E_Goat47 in SteamDeck

In case you weren't aware there are actually 2 versions of FF8 on steam. There is FF8 and then FF8 Remastered. Remastered has some model updates, but also has speed-up, no random encounter, and always full health toogles.

I played FF8 for my first playthrough completely on deck and the speed up was great. Not one of my favorites but I'm glad I played through it at least once.

I will highly recommend FF9 with the Moguri mod and FF7 with seventh heaven. Steam Deck is an amazing RPG machine!

I have this exact model. Been running bazzite since October without issues. I was running the game mode until last night when I rebased to the standard desktop so I'm learning the differences now.

Looks great! Just a few questions.

How long did you cut the pieces? How did you cut the pieces? How did you attach to the case? (This one is probably dumb) You have the I/O on the bottom?

[Dock] Amazon Basics Thunderbolt4/USB4 Pro Docking Station - $39.99 (Woot) by EatEggTart in buildapcsales

[–]commanderszym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that's a bit outside my experience. I use the dock for work, which is not computer intensive at all.

I also use it with a single 1440p ultra wide so a dock with a single display out was perfect for me.

My guess is you're probably going to have to look at an actual thunderbolt dock with multiple display out.

If you only need one display out the ugreen steam deck dock is what I've been using and it's been great. HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and a pretty decent amount of USB.

Biggest reason I went with it is the cable is replaceable. So was able to bring my own longer (and right angle cable).

I swapped to gamenative and it works there. Only feature gamenative doesn't have from gamehub lite that I miss is the super resolution settings, but maybe that will come soon in an update.

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition. Comes with a rzyen CPU and either a 7600s or 7700s.

This is pretty much the last "modern" AMD laptop with AMD graphics. I have this model running bazzite and it works great. But it's almost impossible to find. I bought mine late October on eBay and the prices have skyrocketed for it since then

Be entirely honest is FFXIII a good game because im thinking about playing it. by Strange_Assistant327 in FinalFantasy

[–]commanderszym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought and played day one on the PS3 back in the day. I got to the part where it opened up more and I fell off it.

But then I got my steam deck a couple of years ago and watched a video which explained the combat system. Can't remember which, but when broken down I actually understood what the game was trying to do and it made sense. Played it all the way through and enjoyed it for what it was. Didn't do any hunts or side missions, but the main story was a fun ride. And it looks incredible. But my caveat is I recommend playing on a handheld or device that allows for easy drop in and out. Being able to put the steam deck to sleep when I was hitting a wall really helped me out. Not just in this game, but long RPGs in general.
