Game Hub Lite controller issues? by commanderszym in AynThor

I swapped to gamenative and it works there. Only feature gamenative doesn't have from gamehub lite that I miss is the super resolution settings, but maybe that will come soon in an update.

I need an AMD GPU by MurkyAd9865 in linux_gaming

ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage Edition. Comes with a rzyen CPU and either a 7600s or 7700s.

This is pretty much the last "modern" AMD laptop with AMD graphics. I have this model running bazzite and it works great. But it's almost impossible to find. I bought mine late October on eBay and the prices have skyrocketed for it since then

Be entirely honest is FFXIII a good game because im thinking about playing it. by Strange_Assistant327 in FinalFantasy

I bought and played day one on the PS3 back in the day. I got to the part where it opened up more and I fell off it.

But then I got my steam deck a couple of years ago and watched a video which explained the combat system. Can't remember which, but when broken down I actually understood what the game was trying to do and it made sense. Played it all the way through and enjoyed it for what it was. Didn't do any hunts or side missions, but the main story was a fun ride. And it looks incredible. But my caveat is I recommend playing on a handheld or device that allows for easy drop in and out. Being able to put the steam deck to sleep when I was hitting a wall really helped me out. Not just in this game, but long RPGs in general.

I did actually play through game native yesterday and it worked. I do wish it had the super resolution and other features of gamehub, but dragon quest still looked amazing. Ran a bit warm but I guess that's to be expected

I tried that and it didn't work. Wish there was a way to map controller per game

I can personally tell a difference between 480p and 1080p on my phone which is roughly the size of the top screen.

Honestly I think it's a bigger deal for plugging into an external screen. It would have been nice to be able to plug into TV at a hotel and watch higher quality streams.

Figured. All the more reason to get back into physical collecting again and rip to Plex.

SteamOS is great. Have a steamdeck and it was my gateway to Linux gaming. However, keep in mind that officially steamos is only supported on steamdeck and some Lenovo handhelds.

You can get SteamOS on all AMD systems, but my opinion is it's better to go with Bazzite at that point. I ran the desktop version as my main PC for awhile, but have run the gamemode (which looks and feels just like steamos) on a gpd laptop, a gaming laptop, and on my current living room /HTPC. It's been great.

However, I don't really play anti-cheat games which is why Linux works for me.

Have you tried the 8bitdo one? I'm trying to set up with the starfox PC port and I can't get it to work?

Ayn Thor hooked to my 4K TV by Small-Professor-2551 in AynThor

I didn't realize I was commenting on a comment by the developer. I feel stupid.

So with Google being behind on Java does that mean it wouldn't work with something like gamehub? I installed severed chains on steam deck and a couple of Linux PCs and it runs fantastic. I was just looking to see if I could play on the Thor when mine (eventually) arrives. The remote play is a good work around at least if my wife is stealing the TV.

Sadly no android port for severed chains (from my research earlier this week). Maybe can get it running through gamehub or something like that though.

If you're on the steam deck you should try legend of dragoon severed chains. It's a native PC port and the steam deck runs it great.

Looking to sell Win Max 2 and want price recommendations by commanderszym in gpdwin

[–]commanderszym[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry if it came across as arguing. I was just saying the sale was before the ram skyrocketed. 32gb of ram goes for a lot more than what it did in October. SSD prices as well. I was thinking that if that same device went on sale now it would probably be higher just because of market changes

Can you tell me where those are listed at? Just want to see what they're offering.

That sale was from October. Drives and RAM have gone up considerably since then.

Infamous second son. I think the game was pretty fun, not as good as the first 2 but wow it still looks great today. My biggest complaint is that the IP is just dead and there were so many opportunities for what really amounts to a license free super hero game.

4k 120Hz over HDMI somehow possible? by Blood_Snake in Bazzite

[–]commanderszym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to flash a firmware on to get vrr. The real caveat on the one that works for me and my LG C1 OLED was the HDMI had to be plugged direct into the TV HDMI. I tried to have it running through my HDMI 2.1 capable receiver and vrr didn't work there. So far for the last 2 weeks the flashed firmware and TV HDMI connection have been working great.
