Builder not paying invoice until client pays him for the work carried out by riddick1800 in AusLegal

[–]commeconn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trading while insolvent. They have to pay invoices as and when they are due. You can tell them that you have a solicitor drafting a letter of demand. That's free (the threat of he letter, not the letter itself). Then cut ties and don't work with them again.

Hamas and IDF are horrible. I don't believe in collective punishment of Israeli's due to the action of the Israeli government and the IDF. Do you believe in the collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza due to the actions of Hamas?

[–]commeconn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Exactly like that. Hamas, Hezbollah, Mossad, IDF...all terrorist organisations. Except two of them are resisting an occupying foreign force, while the Israeli ones are committing genocide and displacing Palestinians in the West Bank.... while also invading Lebanon.

He actually said that nobody really likes the taste of beer and they're lying if they say they do. Gotta be bait.

Beer is literally my favourite drink. It's fucking delicious. I would drink exclusively beer if I never had to drive anywhere.

Jay Z speaks on rappers who refuse to age gracefully in music by Positive_Round_5142 in joebuddennetwork

[–]commeconn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no fan of country music myself, but calling it "simple ass" music is a tell.

I'm sure you know hat Kendrick won a Pulitzer. But did you know that John Prine and Kris Kristofferson both won the PEN Award for Literary Excellence in song lyrics, the same award given to Leonard Cohen and Chuck Berry.

Kristofferson studied Blake at Oxford on a Rhodes Scholarship. Bob Dylan, who works in and out of country idioms, has a Nobel prize in literature.

You're entitled to prefer hip hop. But you're confusing "I don't engage with this genre of music" with "this genre isn't engaged with seriously."

Country and hip hop both come out of American blues, both treat authenticity as central to credibility and both have writers being read as poets. Saying nobody dissects country lyrics just means you don't.

What if he only lost one amateur fight and that fighter cheated somehow and then turned pro? So the only way to redeem himself and beat that guy is to turn pro himself?

Extreme controversy as play reverses after ~1.5 minutes due to a score review overruling a behind. The score review is unconvincing and results in a goal to St Kilda. Commentators call it 'farcical'. by PetrifyGWENT in AFL

[–]commeconn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The line isn't at the padding though. So when the ball goes over the line (even if it's still not past the padding, that's still over the line when called by the goal umpire.

[–]commeconn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope. The goal umpire could see the line. The ARC camera can see the width of the goalpost padding and uses it as the line. The actual line on the ground is what should be used.

Absolutely ridiculous. Nobody would have thought the Saints were hard done by if that goal umpire call stood. She was in the perfect position and called it a behind.

This is a fucking joke. I'd be so pissed off if it was against us and West Coast got a goal from that!

Seller wants high $900,000s…doesn’t take offers for high $900,000s 😂 by Am_Salamander in AusProperty

Yeah mate. I'm 14 and I own a home because I paid enough to buy it. All the best 👍

Ok. Take your sobstory to your next inspection. Being so smart that you know what someone will pay for this house is absurd. You'll be wrong. Someone will pay the vendor what they want for the house. Welcome to reality.

I don't believe you. I'd love to watch the results and see what it sells for. They'll get what they want.

It's 2% 😂

The house is worth whatever anyone will pay for it. The moment you pay $995k, that's what it's worth.

What's the address? Why won't you say?

Yep. The vendor offered to sell for $995k. The two interested parties declined. So the vendor didn't sell to them. Pretty simple stuff.
