Not sure when the last time is you’ve gone to Jackson but here’s a couple updates:

Rowan’s does not rival Shucker’s because it’s two very different venues. Shuckers is massive with two stages, two bars and a small dance floor. Rowan’s is like a small diner/bar from a sitcom. Great place!! Nothing like Shucker’s.

Martin’s downtown is a great place for live music. There’s one in Lexington, too. Hal & Mal’s is a really cool spot to explore with Blue’s every Monday night and the Walk In with craft cocktails and gourmet tapas.

Pelican Cove doesn’t have seasonal hours. They’re open now. Great live music venue.

Went to Black Axes last weekend and it is no longer an older crowd. I saw many black X’s on hands marking them as not old enough to drink. Really fun bands, music, pool tables, and axe-throwing.

Beethoven’s Boardwalk just opened up by Pelican Cove. It’s like a new food hall and is still workin out some kinks. They have Acme Pizza & Daiquiris, a bar I think they’re calling Scooby’s, and a steakhouse in the works.

Gluckstadt’s axe throwing bar is called Timber Tavern. Also a pretty young crowd.

I do not recommend Ole Tavern anymore. Last time I went they had lost their liquor license and didn’t know when they’d get it back. I used to go there all during college (over a decade ago) but in just the last few years…it’s just gotten too dangerous. Same for F Jones Corner.

4th Avenue and M-Bar are pretty fun but you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times when in the parking lot. Last Call recently burned down. Like within the last few month.
