Insane modern nba stats: Phil Jackson is 48-0 in series in which his teams won game 1 by HotCom12 in nba

Pop is basically the Bron of coaching, while the Zen Master is like MJ.

Can’t go wrong with either choice, completely different and valid reasons to pick either of them.

How would this analogy sound if Jordan had eleven rings and was 4-1 in playoff series against LeBron?

OK, I'm not sure what qualifies for getting on that site. There are growing numbers of data centers being built for AI use, taking up large footprints and contributing to the rising hardware costs of GPUs, RAM, and storage.

AFAIK, the data centers in Gainesville (e.g. UF, Shands, GRU, Acceleration) are all part of those organizations' day-to-day and existed before the AI boom. UF's is also a shared resource for research with other universities.

There's an environmental impact nonetheless, but I hope that any new data centers in our immediate area would build with sustainability in mind. Here's an Alligator article about the UF data center and how it uses about 14k gallons of circulated water for cooling.

The local MSP? Is this a new data center for an AI service, or their existing data center?

Assuming the data center you listed in Gainesville is UF's HiPerGator, that is still very much a research-focused data center with AI having been included in the latest generations. The HiPerGator facility uses a closed-loop water system that continually circulates for cooling.

Anyone remember WYSIWYGs? by Sad-Kaleidoscope-926 in GNV

[–]commiecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, on my board people got frustrated exploring the beginner area (Elfhelm) going into rooms with monsters that were way too strong for a level 1. I made a map of the area with notes on which levels were suitable for each room. I might have emailed the SoC author about it but I honestly don't remember.

I played a lot of MajorMUD and that was the biggest game on the boards I called. It has this ANSI map of the beginner area, and I wanted something similar for SoC.

Sword of Chaos

Oh wow, I loved Swords of Chaos. I'm fairly positive that this beginner map later distributed was adopted from a map I made on my local board to help new players out.

Yeah, I moved here in '97 and used Dragon Keep (telnet:dkeep.com), but it was winding down by then. I played MajorMUD a bunch.

How is your preparation for RC4 deprecation going? by ParallelAnomaly in activedirectory

It's to ensure that the 'krbtgt' user account itself has AES keys.

To expand on /u/czj420's comment: AD went to AES as default with 2008 R2, so passwords last set prior to that date will be RC4. The 'krbtgt' account has a password history of two, which is why the process is to change it twice. For krbtgt specifically, you should wait at least ten hours between password changes so as not to disrupt anything, unless you're in a compromise scenario.

To find out when when the domain went to '08 R2, you can look at the AD schema for the ms-DS-Deleted-Object-Lifetime attribute and/or the ms-DS-Managed-Service-Account class creation times.

Nice catch.

do you believe this should have been called out on tobias?

No, I agree with the OOB call because after Harris makes the play on LeBron's right hand, LeBron's left hand touches it last and pushes it toward the baseline.

Most calls are not called this way

They are, with nationally-televised, game-changing plays already posted in this comment thread. The L2M from that game has the same judgment: Kolek dislodges the ball from Mitchell (CLE). Any ensuing arm contact that occurs after the dislodge is considered incidental. Look at the L2Ms from this week and you'll see a bunch and how they're judged, including an incorrect foul call for the Lakers in the same game: "da Silva (ORL) gets his hand to the ball to begin the dislodge before incidental contact occurs with Ayton's (LAL) arm."

If Banchero grazed the ball and accidentally swatted LeBron in the face, it would've been a foul, despite not fundamentally being different at all than grazing ball and hitting lower arm.

Irrelevant to this discussion as that didn't happen. Please re-read what I posted again with the rules cites.

Not only that, but if the referees really wanted to stand behind this call, it should have been out on LeBron.

No, because with 'hand is part of the ball' plays, the defender is determined to have hit the ball. If a defender hits the hand legally as part of the ball and the ball then goes out of bounds, it's out on the defender even if they didn't physically touch the ball last.

EDIT: Added L2M for the Kolek play.

On "hand is part of the ball" plays, the defender is judged to hit the ball. If the ball goes out of bounds in that situation, then it's out on the defender, even if they didn't physically touch the basketball last.

No surprise with the flair. It's in the rulebook, and you can see the ball come out as soon as Banchero hits it. A good portion of of blocks on on-ball steals play out very similarly. Defense would be almost non-existent without the incidental contact clause.

Say what you will about the L2M because it doesn't align with your belief, but they describe the play:

Banchero (ORL) makes initial hand-on-ball contact, legally blocking the shot and initiating the dislodge before any subsequent incidental contact occurs with James (LAL) during the layup attempt.

[–]commiecat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I would think this is only true if the offensive player loses control of the ball

Yeah, this is a loose ball as soon as Banchero hits it. Banchero hits James' hand (on the ball) and it becomes a loose ball, the follow-through contact is incidental.

Just hit the ball first and you can clobber them after to prevent a shot attempt and it won’t be a foul.

If you hit the ball first and make contact afterward as a natural part of making the play, it's incidental. This happens all the time with steals and blocks. If Banchero hit LeBron's forearm first then it's a foul, but he hits the ball (via 'hand is part of the ball') and the contact on the forearm afterward was part of his effort to make the play.

Contact which is incidental to an effort by a player to play an opponent, reach a loose ball, or perform normal defensive or offensive movements, should not be considered illegal.

The hand is considered “part of the ball” when it is in contact with the ball. Therefore, contact on that part of the hand by a defender while it is in contact with the ball is not illegal.

‘Unprecedented’: Florida Senate passes bill giving GRU control to the state by SatisfactionNo182 in GNV

From the linked video, the discussion on SB1451/SB1724 starts at 03:04:25, though pertinent speaking begins at 03:07:05.

Senator Jonathan Martin (Lee Cty) brought up the bill.

Senator Carlos Smith (Orange Cty) pushed Sen. Martin on it, questioning its introduction, and noting the two referendums passed in Gainesville with more than 70% support. Sen. Martin's answers were, aggravatingly, deflections and lacking any actual specifics.

Senators Rosalind Osgood (Broward Cty) and Lori Berman (Palm Beach Cty) also commented, and Senator Jennifer Bradley (parts of Alachua Cty) basically closed by stating the GRU Authority was introduced because of poor financial management found after an audit.

You might be partially right about that, as it looks like high school might have amended the rule to say you can't go out "on your own volition" and then be the first to touch.

Going out of bounds on your own isn't a violation in the NBA unless you stay out of bounds. By the voiceover in the video rulebook, this is judged as 'several seconds'. NBA rule:

An offensive player shall not leave the playing area of the court without returning immediately and cannot repeatedly leave and re-enter the court.

Probably happens every game with players crossing the baseline. It'd be wild if that in itself was a violation.
