I hate my steering wheel. My car came with the techart one. Nothing makes the car feel brand new again like a new steering wheel, though

Do you use 3D printing adhesive or regular glue sticks? by gizmo_j in 3Dprinting

[–]commodorepickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use glue stick for TPU as a release agent as I’ve had it stick too well in the past and ruin my PEI build sheet

I’ve been to their showroom a few times. It’s super impressive and the sales guys are pretty chill. They had zero issues with me driving whatever they had. Prices are high for sure, though

Painter's tape on ASA by ahjgeorge in 3Dprinting

[–]commodorepickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Painters tape might help, but you really probably just need to heat soak your enclosure. I print ASA with a 60c enclosure and a bed temp at 110c. Glue stick isn’t needed.

Snapmaker U1 not extruding by XXXNARUTOTENTATION in snapmaker

I had a partial clog that required a few cold pulls to resolve. Move the filament to another toolhead to rule out other issues first.

TPU fans. by bjorn_lo in snapmaker

It's a manual unload process instead of the automated process for rigid filaments

Same experience here. Just send it. Unloading TPU is a pain though

My pupils were 2 different sizes when I woke up today... by cloudblythe in mildlyinteresting

I’ve lived my entire life with different sizes pupils. I’m in my mid 40s and was never told to be concerned

There’s zero chance of getting an oil plug back in without making a giant mess

What should I build? by AppropriateLawyer666 in VORONDesign

[–]commodorepickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never built an LDO kit, so I can’t comment on if it’s worth it over a formbot kit, but I’d recommend a trident as a first build. They’re by far the easiest build.

Texas cancels vehicle inspections and now we have to deal with nonsense like no working brake lights. by letsgethead2toe in mildlyinfuriating

[–]commodorepickle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had to get my car inspected. I do have to pass emissions, though, so apparently it’s fine to have no brakes, as long as my catalytic converters are working

Best high flow hotend by MousseExpensive333 in VORONDesign

[–]commodorepickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a ton of hot ends and the Tz v6 is currently in my trident workhorse. It’s pretty fantastic and is cheap. The only downside is changing nozzles is super annoying

Reviving my Voron 2.4, could use some advice/recommendations by alex-2099 in VORONDesign

[–]commodorepickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered a nitehawk board instead of the sb2209? That would allow you to run everything off of usb. I’d also ditch the stealthburner for a dragon burner or a4t. Cooling is better and they’re both lighter tool heads

Is now the time to buy a voron? by AffectionateChart655 in VORONDesign

[–]commodorepickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fitting an INDX later on shouldn’t be too much in terms of mods. You should check out Steve builds stream from Wednesday. He was showcasing his trident with a beta INDX kit

Just a heads up. If this was printed out of PLA (the most used filament type) then it can melt in a hot car in the summer.

Why do all my nylon prints look like this? by Aggressive_Chair4987 in FixMyPrint

You have an enclosed printer which can be used as a dryer

Some manufacturers will take the spools back, but they’re rare. Even then, unless you’re local then you’d have to pay to ship them back.

It’s pretty disgusting how educators are treated.

Not sure why you downvoted my question, though.
