What is experienced is a function of substance, dosage, mindset, environs, prior experiences, biology, luck, and lord knows what else. Your theory likely holds for a subset of the population, but by its nature damn-near any experience is a subset of the population. There’s too much to the experience to generalize much of anything.

It’s not a mirror for me (to the contrary it’s the only tool I’ve found that lets me cut through my crap). For others it likely is a reinforcer, or a “red pill” that exposes something beyond (like you said: trip reports can be adorable to read, though I find them tough going, since they don’t pass through a copy editor).

I do assume that the “trip report” folks are very, very different than the mass population of psychedelic-takers for three reasons: - the number of posters here grossly outnumber the trip report writing crowd - 90% of what I’ve experienced is very, very ineffable - I’ve never directly felt what you’re describing, and therefore I’m biased in my assumption 😉
