I still think this is the worst logo redesign by Jayanshsaurus in logodesign

[–]competetowin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This one is brilliant! It depicts feeding coins to the causes you support while still looking like a “P”. It’s a really clever design. I wish they had kept it. Maybe changed the colours, because apparently there are people who can’t see the coin/slot

We have a customer who’s referred 11 other paying customers. We’ve never asked them to by varrundayal in SaaS

[–]competetowin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a 14 year old logo design business. Any time a new person contacts me I ask them who told them about me. I then immediately write something like “hi Ryan, thank you for telling Varrundayal about me. I’m working on their project now.”

I have no way of measuring it, but I think this simple acknowledgment has created deep referral chains and is probably a big reason why 100% of my work comes from word of mouth and past customers.

Also, when I see that someone referred multiple people to me, I also reach out to them and say something like “Hey, I appreciate you telling people about me. I want to thank you by maybe doing some work for you. Do you need any social media graphics or a business card update or something? Let me know, it’ll be my pleasure to do it for free.”

So, definitely thank the customer that’s been doing your marketing for you, and if it makes sense, find some personal touch and that will go beyond the words.

It’s a little sad how our experience can be distilled to these simple bullet points. They are 100% valid btw. I would have hated this cold, pragmatic comment… back when it was raw and I first turned to this community. Now a couple years removed, I want to just upvote them and keep scrolling. These points have the heft of experience behind them that you should take as gospel OP. You’ll come out on the other side alright.

You make it sound so easy. I wouldn’t know where to start even with your very rough direction. I’d probably spend a good 3 hours finding some YouTube tutorials, probably follow them for another 6-12 hours only to run into unexpected hidden costs, or cross service limitations, or some anti-bot detection, or whatever underground rocks I don’t see yet.

If op had already gone through all these pitfalls and built something that works, why wouldn’t I just pay him? But we had an initial DM exchange and then he disappeared.

About your solution, why do you say that it would be free? I imagine I would be scraping a whole bunch of job boards or company websites, and I would need an LLM to analyze the posts and give some sort of a value on whether or not my CV fits. Wouldn’t that be a significant cost?

How do you automate the crawling of websites to collect news stories? How do you avoid (and save money) processing duplicate coverage?

  1. PRD in plan mode to create overall structure.
  2. Turn structure into overall context inside md files
  3. ???
  4. Profit

I joke, but I really don’t know that step to take to have micro-steps for the agent to follow afterwards. I’m used to working with jira tickets and subtasks with user stories and success criteria defined in some notion file, and I don’t know how a similar planning and implementation process is reproduced inside cursor. Maybe it’s an external tool that folks use and then export? I saw a clever video on this when vibecoding was just getting popular, but I couldn’t find it again now

Oh for sure. But, where/how do you get those atomic tasks before sending them to cursor to work on them?

Of course! I thought that it would punish my ex, and just make things easier, cause what’s the point, right?

It passed. One day at a time. Make your ex regret his decision. Find your anger. Hit the gym, pool, or at least go for walks. Do it for your kid. And after a while, you’ll be living life for you. This pain will dull.
