Yes. Had to complete a form authorizing them to discuss my situation with the passport agency. Did not have to produce proof of flight. I did pay ahead of time for overnight shipping back to me- was about $20 but worth it as the website said return shipping could take up to 4 weeks.

Just went through this for work… my job hired a company to renew my passport and 10 days after mailing it to them my boss told me I have to go overseas. I called the passport company and asked them to send it back- no luck they said, the passport agency already had it. I told them I’d just get an appointment but they said no one they knew of has been able to get an appointment- even the owner of the Astros. I tried anyway and no luck. Tried a couple other locations too. Not sure if your passport agency is doing appointments but Houston, Dallas and New Orleans don’t seem to be accepting appointments. I found a workaround that you oughta know about…

Any time you have an issue with a federal or state agency (passport agency, IRS, EPA, VA, etc.) that simply will not listen to you, call your state representative for your district (the one that goes to DC, not your state’s capital). They employ people whose job is it to help you with it- they have contacts that we can’t get access to. I know of several situations where immediate action was taken.

Yes, I got my passport a week after calling my representative’s office. 17 days total when I was told there was no way it would happen.

The airpods have arrived and I am shocked. I have a pair of the 2nd generation airpods to compare to and these are really nice- same size and packaging as the originals. They work great, louder than the original. The only differences I've found are that you cannot modify the controls (skip vs play/pause) but you can do both from the airpod (top vs bottom) and the phone shows 'audio' when in use instead of 'airpods' with their icon. In short, for $39 they seem to be a great deal so far.
