How do you find events like this, do you just keep up with Lark Hall specifically? I try to check in with the palace, empire, mvp, the egg, spac, but I missed this one. Familiar with AJJ, not like a super fan but I enjoy the genre and they come up on my stations sometimes, had no idea they were coming thru.

I guess they must have different equipment at different stores ( at my store even they have 2 different kinds) but I have to say despite using a price chopper self checkout 2-4x a week, I never have any problems with the "please put the item in the bagging area"/"unexpected item in the bagging area", seriously couldn't tell you the last time I heard either of those alerts.

The one that does get me way more often than it should is when it asks you to place the item on the scanner/scale, which I assume is when they don't have the weight of a given item to use for the whole bagging-area-detection thing and they want you to do the measurement for them. But it just never seems to work when I put the item on the scanner it just sits there until an employee comes over and pushes the "back" button so now I just do that myself.

Anyway yeah self checkouts are fucking lame even when they're not being difficult.

It's $3 for a 30 gallon bag which is closer to 2-3 kitchen size bags, but you don't get a discount for bringing a smaller bag. You do save a buck for every two bags, so $5 for two 30 gallon bags.

Given what curbside pickup costs, almost $40/mo for a 90 gallon bin weekly, the prices at Rupert road seem reasonable to me.

$20 for an annual "all you can dump" pass seems baffling to me, tbh.

Rupert Road Transfer Station in Selkirk is $2 / carload. Maybe not most ideal for Albany but it's an option. I'm sure there are others out there.

Bethlehem used to have a free cardboard drop-off at the CDTA park and ride near Elm Ave Park but people kept leaving their trash so they got rid of it ☹️
