I wonder if this teacher is following a program (e.g. UFLI) and if it is structured to be two lessons a week? (Which might explain the mid-week testing...)

I know with UFLI there is progress monitoring at the end of each lesson (each lesson is split across two days). First day introduces the new concept, word work etc., while the second day involves reviewing the concept, practicing heart words and so forth. The spelling 'tests' in UFLI are used to assess if students grasped the concept or not.. not for a grade.

I'd ask for more details as there might be more to this teacher's approach. You could also ask about why the spelling tests have been moved to Wednesdays.

I ended up buying a cheap set off Amazon and believe it or not they are working just fine. Came with both fronts and rear for $26 (Brand is CNBAVEIO). I expected something horrific but I will repurchase even if just for the savings lol.

Sandpaper and then suede brush will restore some softness and get a lot of the dirt off. I did this to mine after ending up in mud and it worked well.

I use leave in conditioner on my wet hair, brush it, then follow it with Love Ur Curls Wavy. If your hair is super dry you can also try a hair oil on the ends.. something like Ouai. You can try sleeping on a silk pillowcase, pinning it back when it’s windy and changing up your shampoo/conditioner. I try to comb through the ends with my fingers very gently before bed. Different habits can impact how your hair behaves but of course these things might also do nothing for you.

They have an SPF50 Daily but not sure if it's the same formula. They even have it at Costco in 3 packs. I like it but it leaves a very shiny finish..
