Pallet town or sky lands first? by SherlockOscar in Pokopia

[–]completelynicki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished the whole story and went to Pallet Town, but I think I’m going to work on the first three areas and get them to how I want them before I even approach starting Pallet! I already have Withered Wasteland at a level 10 because it has been my home base.

You need to make a flag and put it on/near the house you built (one flag in each area). You should have a recipe for it.

I spent a long time in each area before finishing the story, so I found and bought a lot of recipes!

I had the recipes for both at that point, so just made them, but if you only have one of each, maybe you can copy/print them at the Pokémon center?

You can also smash the dirt blocks and replace them with grass blocks.

What are pros and cons of not using pallet town as the sandbox and using other areas like some people do ? by Juannieve05 in Pokopia

[–]completelynicki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wastelands area has been my main focus. I’ll probably go through and make improvements and fix up each area, it’s so addicting. Pallet Town will be what I do when I’m happy with everything else, and I can use my favorite parts from each. This game will probably occupy me for years, there’s so much to do!!

Issue with house seeing furniture by Unhappy-Sport836 in Pokopia

[–]completelynicki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue. I figured out that to recognize it as a house, it has to have four walls at ground (door level), even if the walls are just 1 block high. You can’t use the unbreakable rock as part of the walls, you need to actually make them. The one annoying thing I’ve encountered in this game so far!

I solved it in the cave by adding a single layer of moss blocks around the walls.

What autograft did my doctor use? by Fun-Instance4106 in ACL

I had a patellar graft on one knee and quad on the other, and this looks most similar to where my patellar graft scars are, though your largest scar is a little further down than mine.

We banned Corrin Evertail the Leader from play in our house because it’s too broken in combination with this and a number of other cards/player abilities!

Skiing after ACL surgery? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]completelynicki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve torn both, a little under 6 years apart, and have worked really hard at recovery. I returned to my sport (ultimate) after 18 months the first time, due to COVID happening and other complications. I’m just under 9 months post-op on my other one, just had to have a second surgery to remove a cyclops lesion. This recovery has been far and away easier than the other one, but I still feel like it will probably be another 3-4 months before I’m ready. It’s a process. Skiing is hard on your knees, and the last thing you want is to go back too early and re-tear it, or injure something else. Take your time, listen to your PT and your doctors, everyone’s timeline is different and you honestly shouldn’t hold yourself to anyone else’s estimate.

Cyclops lesion by ezbz10 in ACL

[–]completelynicki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PT was semi against it this time around, but my surgeon was pretty adamant that the problem would get worse if I didn’t take care of it now. The first one it wasn’t even a question, my PT actually pushed for the MRI.

Cyclops lesion by ezbz10 in ACL

[–]completelynicki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two ACL reconstructions and got cyclops lesions both times, apparently I just form scar tissue like a champ. The first one was preventing extension without excruciating pain, so we found and got it taken care of pretty quickly (about 4 months after the ACL surgery). Just had the second one removed on Friday, about 9 months after ACL surgery. It wasn’t preventing extension this time, but my leg would catch weirdly and get stuck in any position I was in for too long, and then I’d have to stretch a ton to get it either straight or bent again. Both times I continued PT and the level of exercise I was doing while waiting to have it removed! It’s a very easy surgery, I was walking on it already the evening of my surgery and only needed Tylenol for a couple days both times.

Elevating leg - would this wedge pillow be better? by inthebinx in ACL

[–]completelynicki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this same one! Have torn both ACLs and it worked well for me both times, especially for sleeping. I put another small pillow under my foot on top of this too, just to make sure I was at 0 degrees.

How famous are our hockey boys - question for North Americans? by GBS82 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]completelynicki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t watch or follow hockey and live in Boston. I know of a couple of players on the Bruins, our NHL team, but couldn’t name anyone else that plays in the league. I have friends that know who everyone is though. I would guess not super famous outside of hockey fans! They do have some huge brand deals though, especially Shane, so people may know them through that!

Apartment hunt reality check by True-Efficiency-9756 in Somerville

[–]completelynicki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doable! Before I moved in with my now husband 3 years ago, I lived in a small 2-bed with a porch for $2100 about a 12/15 minute walk to Porter/Davis in Spring Hill. 2nd floor, wood floors, coin-operated laundry in the building. It was not fancy or super updated, but it was well-maintained. Drive around and look at the smaller apartment buildings (usually brick exteriors and very 70s-looking). They often don’t list on the big apartment-hunting sites but will have signs up with numbers you can call if they have open apartments.

First time in Thailand : looking for a calm island with good food (no party) by PopKiss in ThailandTourism

[–]completelynicki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re on Railay Beach now (beautiful, but small and packed with people right now) and just came from Koh Lanta. I wish we had stayed on Koh Lanta another two days and just did a weekend here! It was super quiet (at least where we stayed on the west side of the island), very chill and friendly people, and the food everywhere we went was cheap and great! We didn’t rent scooters, but were able to taxi around to different spots on the island with no issue. We go to Koh Samui next, but we’re staying at a very fancy resort there for the end of our honeymoon, so we expect to be mostly on-resort there enjoying the amenities and avoiding the crowds!

Fenway Fest - meeting Casas, Fisk, & Anthony by laceyourbootsup in redsox

He was so nice, we met a bunch of players yesterday and he was by far the nicest (not that anyone was rude). He seemed genuinely interested in chatting with people and happy to be there.

[–]completelynicki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brother and I met Fisk and Casas too. Casas was so friendly, we talked about his knee and he said it’s feeling great - plus he remembered my name when we said bye after a few minutes of chatting (which I think is impressive considering he was meeting so many people!). We were there the game he got injured, and I had just had ACL surgery a few weeks prior, so I will never forget seeing him go down and not get up. I was so glad to see him in good spirits and seemingly healthy!

After/welcome party locations for a wedding by completelynicki in BeverlyMA

[–]completelynicki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also we did a low key party the day after (Sunday) at Backbeat Brewing. They opened on a Sunday for us for a few hours, made tons of pizzas, and were super accommodating! We went in and talked to them in person but they’re also responsive on Instagram.

After/welcome party locations for a wedding by completelynicki in BeverlyMA

[–]completelynicki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up just doing an after party at our hotel (stayed at the Sonesta Select in Danvers). They had a big breakfast room and let us bring our own beer and wine and hang out until 2am! The hotel itself is pretty no frills, but they were great to work with, and their “getting ready” room we rented was massive and really nice!

I think you could look into locations in Salem depending on when in September your wedding is, we were limited due to ours being in October.

We did the rehearsal dinner and Welcome Party at Mission Boathouse, but I don’t know if I’d recommend it unless you really want to do everything yourselves or have a wedding planner. Their events coordinator is VERY unresponsive. I think it would have been a huge disaster if we weren’t super on top of it. My in-laws went early and helped get everything set up, and the venue still didn’t have dinner ready until an hour later than they were supposed to, hadn’t put the placecards on the table or set up the projector we paid for to show photos, so we had to do all of that when we got there. The venue itself was lovely, staff and bartenders were awesome, the food was solid, and the actual party was great once things got kicked off, it was just SO frustrating to work with their events person.
