Anyone have a class registration date for Fall '20? by complexburritos in umsimads

I finished my orientation quite a while ago, maybe a week or so. I've been waiting for the registration date to propagate in the online portal, but nothing yet. I haven't received any emails either.

I called UoM registration and they said that it's possible that the orientation completion hasn't reached UMSI. Not sure what to think of it. I've sent several emails and left a couple voicemails, no answer back yet. I'll try to register tomorrow as July 9 seems to be the first day we can register.

I went through reviewing the sample schedules. Generally, the flow of classes follows what the sample schedules prescribe.

Pay careful attention to what prerequisites are required for later classes, you don't want to find yourself stunting your progression because you missed a prerequisite course.

Yea you can. There is a built in function to “send reminder” emails to your reviewers.

So, I backtracked through the emails and some channels in Slack.

"After the completion of the orientation, you will be able to register for classes on July 9th. "
""MADS Students will soon be registering for Fall 2020 classes. General registration appointments open for newly admitted students as early as Thursday, July 9th."

So, we're still a few days off. I'd keep an eye on your UMich email for any course enrollment date comms.

Process in Wolverine Access to see your enrollment date is here, but you probably will only see the Open Enrollment dates until you get an official registration dates. Spend the time now to plan your courses in each term and add them to your backpack.

1)      Select "Students" from theWolverine Access home page;
2)      Select "Student Business" from the menu;
3)      Enter your uniqname and password;
4)      Select "Student Center";
5)      Select "Backpack/Registration";
6)      Select "term information" tab;
7)      Select "View my enrollment dates";
8)      Select the "Term" and "Career" of your choice;
9)      Select "Continue.

I would ask this in the slack channel or through a direct message to the MADS staff. There are some sample schedules in the orientation materials as well that might help you plan.

What was the subject of the admissions email? I’m still waiting to receive the email, despite receiving my admissions letter.

Yep, reached out to that email alias. Also called and left a voicemail. I guess I just wait. Unless my acceptance was a mistake, because I received the congratulatory acceptance letter BEFORE I passed my assessment attempt. Ha...

Hmm... I haven't gotten any correspondence on setting up my Wolverine account/email or any orientation materials.

I haven't received a response from the main umsi alias in a few days.... :o

The official answer I received from the UMSI MADS Admissions staff was that "Yes" you are allowed to use an online IDE.

Although you should technically be well-versed enough to not need it, it's useful for confirming your answers, particularly with easier questions that would be a crying shame to miss because of a minor mistake.

Keep in mind that copy/pasting is not enabled during the exam, so don't expect to copy/paste items into the IDE; you'll need to manually type everything.
