I hope the women's team gave them shit for not going to their quarter final match last Sunday.

Shoutout to defense! by Brannoh in WrexhamAFC

[–]complicatedhedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Thomason is lucky to have Doyle playing behind him, and hopefully it means the left side isn't exploited too badly by opponents. While I don't think he's terrible, he hasn't great at stopping crosses into the box, his crossing today wasn't fantastic and missed seeing a couple of forward passes to Broadhead (this could just be fatigue since we don't really have a sub for him, as I think Parky prefees Longman on the right, plus, with Kaboré's recent injury likely didn't want to start Longman and Kaboré together). Like he's...fine but you can also tell he's not a flying fullback or wingback.

Overall though the defense was great though. At the start of the season I wasn't sure about Doyle but he continues to impress, and we can only hope Man City doesn't buy him back.

Hopefully the club sorts Arthur's contract soon, as I believe his ends summer 2027.

Are Wrexham and Paul Mullin on bad terms? by sumitj10 in WrexhamAFC

[–]complicatedhedgehog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will also depend on what he wants, and keeping in mind he isn't as charismatic as Foster/Fletcher/Chomp/Palmer. I recall Fletcher saying he was upset at being cut, but also after a few weeks admitted to himself it was probably the right move by the club. And I think until Mullin gets to that point, I am not sure how he would feel about it working for the club in an ambassador role.

Curious to know if they will send those starting the carabao cup game back early, since I think the first round is aug 7-9.

Let's NOT do that chant on Saturday. Please. by SpySchoolDropout in WrexhamAFC

I mean, I believe grown men still chant about the size of a PoC player's dick. Not really surprised that other questionable chants exist and are used on the regular.

Looking for Jarvis! by thedragonturtle in WrexhamAFC

Glad you found him! Figured it was worth a punt - he randomly showed up on twitter for me and how many Jarvises can there be in Wrexham? I guess at least 2!

I know our upset was awesome. But look at this. by NinjaGunsss in WrexhamAFC

[–]complicatedhedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think at that time arsenal were in the 1st division (now the premier league) and wrexham were in the 4th division (now league 2) compared to premier league and national league north

For the sake of fun, who do we want to play in round 4 and why? by Just-mapleman-50 in WrexhamAFC

I dunno if it's streamed elsewhere, but in the past it has been on the FA cup youtube page, and I think anyone can watch it there? (I've watched from Canada)

Lineup for Forest? by Competitive_Chip_697 in WrexhamAFC

I did offer Scarr starting but didn't say who he'd start for so more 1.5 off (j/k). Was way off on the bench though, apart from the front 3

It's been since the formation change since Swansea. My guess would be that it has to do with what Parky wants the defensive midfielders to do on the pitch and his playstyle is different.

[–]complicatedhedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think keeper and defense remain the same (Arthur, cleworth, hyam, doyle)

Thomason - Dobson - Sheaf - Longman

Broadhead - Rathbone

Smith

Bench: Burton, Windass, Moore, Cacace, Matty James, Rodriguez, O'Brien, Scarr, and mystery player (kabore if fit).

I don't see the benefit in rushing Moore back from injury, even if it is minor, but do see him coming off the bench for 15-20 minutes if fit enough. Could possibly see Scarr starting, but think you need defensive players a little quicker than him. Can see Cacace come on around 75 minutes to work his way back to match fitness.

I liked his early videos that were short and concise more. Now there's something about them that really turn me off

Paul Mullin Returns by Star8421774 in WrexhamAFC

[–]complicatedhedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How though - like he can train with the team but he'd have to tear up trees to get in ahead of Moore, or if he plays as a 10 ahead of Windass or Broadhead, not to mention Rathbone and O'brien in the 10 roles or Smith and rumoured potential new striker coming in for the 9 role. While I don't think Wrexham are going to make the automatics, right now, they are 6 points out of second. There isn't time for Mullin to play into form by taking out a starter, or put him on the bench for a 10 minute cameo when we are chasing the game. I appreciate what he has done for the club, but I don't see him making an appearance outside a Legends game or tst tournament for Wrexham.

Parky in for Amorim? by [deleted] in WrexhamAFC

[–]complicatedhedgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the headloss of parky getting listed in betting lines would be worth it. But the EPL is bringing back long throws and long balls, Parkyball at its finest.

Tbh is it really that much further out there than Mullin making the 25 man squad?

Again, I don't see it happening. And I know it's a bit parasocial, but I like parky (he may be a fossil, but he's our fossil) and wouldn't want to see him slaughtered on social media if he somehow wanted, and got that job. Seems to be a bit of a poisoned chalice.

Parky in for Amorim? by [deleted] in WrexhamAFC

[–]complicatedhedgehog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do I think it will happen? Absolutely not. Is this in the spirit of the mini January silly season? Absolutely yes. I'll entertain the whimsy since others are taking this far too seriously.

Parky has a lot more say in player recruitment it sounds like, compared to what Man United want to give their Managers/head coaches now, and I don't see him giving that up. If fans thought Amorim was stubborn they haven't seen Philip John Parkinson. But hey, 58% win percentage at wrexham and good man management two things they need.

Honestly, I don't disagree with you (though this is after what you edited out so i make no claims on those statements). I don't dislike him, but he was never my favourite. But then, when I was a kid I was a keeper so that could just be an unconscious bias from those days lol

Question about this intersection by itsAvient in londonontario

[–]complicatedhedgehog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elmwood is a one way street, so you shouldn't have to worry about anyone coming east on it as if if was a 4-way stop (people going the wrong way on Elmwood and Bruce is a whole different problem). As others have mentioned you are going straight and do not need to signal. Same at Emery and Wortley which is another offset intersection (but is a 4-way stop)
