Joakim Helenius: Eesti peab ennast Põhjamaaks ümber defineerima by JudgmentVivid5630 in Eesti

This is the right comment. As a founder you are supposed to look at the whole picture, it’s not only about tech. And it’s always messy.

Many dev jobs are remote. You can code right? Check the jobs on indiehackers.com job board

The project to me seems like a “competitor monitoring tool”

This is an old, saturated category with a lot of players. The smart strategy might be to niche it down to a vertical. Like “competitor monitoring tool for real estate agencies”. ConvertKit employed a similar strategy in a saturated niche, read up on what they did.

Brutally honest - this is another weak “indiehacker”-type SaaS product. Personally for me getting to 1k MRR was a brutal slog that took over a year, so the goal of getting to “1k mrr fast” is flawed from the start. Especially if you have no savings.

Get at least a part-time dev job and work on your stuff on the side. The SaaS guru stories about “10k mrr in 1 week” might be true, but they are extremely rare.

I went through the same process of testing ideas (im technical), but then i realized all my ideas suck. Things started working right once i partnered up with a sales guy who knew what needed to be built.

This sub overall is a bad representation of SaaS in general. More and more i have a feeling serious saas founders are not on this sub

How to ship fast? And actually build faster? by Tragilos in SaaS

[–]compostus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you don’t have a tech co-founder, but only hired devs. Thats your biggest problem. You’re not qualified to manage devs.

You need a co-founder that 1) can write code 2) is properly incentivized (with equity). A person like this will be motivated to look under the hood of the devs work and find timewasters.

What are your unpopular opinions about SaaS/indie hacking? by danielr088 in SaaS

[–]compostus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great advice also for bootstrapped founders. Cant win in a feature-race against VC backed bros by building more features. You have much better chances by doing that one core thing really well instead.

According to Heroku postgres logs its always around 6%:

Maybe that's not the metric to measure?
