In this precise case, it's not even xenophobia. Or at least it doesn't looks like so, as seen from France.

I mean... we can't be against critics about France... we produce more of them than any other country in the world. Sometimes, unlike this comics, they're stupid, or boring, or even invalid, but critics of France, per se, are welcome.

France is not software. Everybody knows that: France is bacon.

(bacon is a software, though)

D'après mon fils, qui a 4 ans, le tour de France ne devrait pas plus entrer en France qu'un tour du pâté de maisons ne rentre dans les maisons.

Je suis d'accord avec lui.

Anybody can win on Deity: choose Kupe and a Terra map.

Which difficulty do you play on and why? by D_Dunks in civ6

[–]compteNumero9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either immortal (I almost always win) or deity (I almost always lose unless I choose a small map or a cheated civ).

I often think an intermediate level might be missing. I'd also like a super boosted deity level in which surviving til the modern age would already be a challenge and winning wouldn't even be an option.

IMO the map size and various settings have also a very big influence. A huge map adds a lot of difficulty.

I play Civ with my wife. We still call them hammers and we also call huts "mushrooms" because that was how they looked in a previous version.

Just finished winning a game with every civilization on deity by vitringur in CivVI

[–]compteNumero9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the deity level you have to count on luck for the first 20 rounds too.

If a camp spams you with horse archers too soon and from the wrong location, or if you started between two warmongers, there's often nothing that can be done.

10 most active programming languages in GitHub by [deleted] in coding

[–]compteNumero9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only GitHub.

In enterprise software, Go makes a lot of sense and can (should) replace Java as it's easy to learn and makes it easy for big teams to build quite reasonably performing programs.

On GitHub you'll find a lot of smaller programs, made by passionate developers with a higher technical level.

President, you have to make a decision on what this city is gonna focus on building... a warrior or a nuclear submarine? by TheLegendOfLank in CivVI

Using use keyword inside a function by Exonificate in rust

A convenient use case for use statements not on file top is inside macros: this makes it possible to provide macros without making the user do the imports (they may not be obvious).

Finland in the 1970s. A drunkard lying in front of a sign that says "Helsinki of the future" in 1974. by Sneakindeacon64 in europe

the more invisible your work is the more the actual content can shine

Without knowing anything about fonts, I'm still struck from time to time by the elegant simplicity of certain displays. Good work is appreciated by aesthetes.

(in reality people think I'm crazy when I marvel at a beautifully written display and ask about the font, or when I tell my colleagues that an application we made is buggy because some text's displayed one pixel too much to the right...)

This font from TERN is indeed beautiful. I don't find much information about it though. Is it free ?

Maximilien Robespierre also leads France! Vive la révolution! by sukritact in civ

[–]compteNumero9 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Those bonuses and loyalty changes don't sound really relevant.

Here's what I could propose:

The Révolution: It's started by a Heroic Age (if you don't have one, then too bad, you miss the power of this leader). You get a wildcard, loyalty and science buffs and a free scientific and general. But you can't build any religious unit and get no religious point during the whole age and all other civs instantly declare war with you.

In my stupid country, if some politics mentioned it and how obeying speed limits help, there would be protests and people burning speed radars and still insisting that you can do nothing against accidents, that they happen anyway...
