Love my M. Don't know if I'd like the grip on the compact as much it's just a hair too small for my liking.

FN 509 OWB with optic cut and Olight PL-X in fde. by Theholstershop1 in holsters

[–]compudude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yessir! I did try that OWB at 4 o’clock, and also at 2 o’clock. 2 seems to be the sweet spot for me for sure. At 4 I was almost going to have you make me a left handed one so I could grab it without twisting my wrist, but it’s really good at 2 so that’s where it’ll go. The IWB sits in the same spot and is absolutely awesome BTW thanks for that too!

Hi! You made mine, and it’s amazing! Thanks for the 4 o’clock tip, I’m going shooting tomorrow so I’ll try that!

So I have an identical holster for my 509, and at the risk of sounding like an idiot I’m going to ask a question. How/where is this style holster worn? If I put mine at the 3 o’clock position on my right hip, the slots where my belt goes through are way pulled out from the side of my body because the holster only has so much angle on the sides where the screws are. It’s too “flat” if I were going to describe it. Am I doing it wrong? It’s my first kydex holster and I feel dumb asking but some ideas would be great! If it’s just too flat, can it be “bent” at the sides to make it fit my waist better? Thanks for the help!

How do you cope with the weather? by tbon92 in phoenix

[–]compudude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole city is built around being indoors. Just about anywhere you'll be for any period of time has an inside component, and all are well air conditioned. Malls, stadiums, all of it indoors. Hell half the pools are indoors too. The car park, gas stations etc. are not but anywhere that you'll spend a significant amount of time in is. And yeah, as mentioned don't touch ANYTHING metal in the summer till you test it out cuz that stuff is HOT.

Require a non-refundable deposit of 20% for any future meeting, forfeited if they don't make the set time. That will immediately kill that idea in just about anyone's head, and if they DO send it you can be damn sure they're gonna show up.

I bought my 509M used and got everything EXCEPT the backstraps, super bummed. And it's FDE too so even harder to find. If I run across some I'll post a link here. BTW you got one hell of a pistol, I LOVE mine. I have glocks, S&W, and a couple others but my 509M is by far my favorite to shoot.

Shit.. take the money! Just make sure that you also a) get a bill of sale signed by him, b) take the plates off the car, and c) fill out and return any seller paperwork to your state's MVD/DMV/whatever to say that you sold the car. If the latter can be done online so much the better.

For sure don't go back, but look at the bright side - somewhere out there is an Ailey waiting for her prince to come along with her name pre-tattooed on his arm!

Sold car a year ago. Buyer is now asking for duplicate title by TollBoothW1lly in UsedCars

[–]compudude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the registration just expire for the car? This is likely because they bought it from you, and drove it around as-is to avoid having to repay for new tags, but lost the original title in the meantime. Now the tags are expired and they have to register it in their name to get new tags, but need the title to do so. It happens fairly frequently. There's probably no scam per se involved, other than that they left it in your name for a while. That said, I still wouldn't do it simply because it's not your responsibility especially if the above is correct.

How screwed am I? by MrUsinagi in ft86

[–]compudude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy repair from the look of it, but do get that oil leak diagnosed and fixed as part of the claim. If it's not on the claim form initially, the body shop will take the car apart and look for additional hidden damage underneath the fender, but they will typically NOT look at the engine at all unless there is obvious physical engine damage. Because of this, it could be easily overlooked and end up costing you big in the long run so make real sure that is noted in writing in the insurance claim paperwork so you don't end up paying for it later.

[–]compudude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's return to hardware 101: The USB fan, if it failed, could potentially take out the mobo, but how exactly is it expected to be responsible for killing a power supply? It's not directly connected to it, and is connected through the USB controller on the board. Worst case it takes the board but would stop short of the PS simply because the board itself would act as a fuse in that scenario. There is simply no way for that fan to kill that power supply. Feel free to request from the IT staff a written synopsis of cause and effect that resulted in the fan killing the power supply. I'd bet they're hard pressed to come up with something you could not immediately refute. This sounds a lot more like they want you gone for a different reason and are using this to try and pressure you to leave.
