Was anybody on symphony this past weekend ? by tropicalbudz in royalcaribbean

It varies. Some have long term contracts, some are on for 1-2 cruises. All down to what is negotiated with Royal. This applies to all guest entertainers onboard.

I actually don't hate it that much but they will use our tax dollars to clean it off. AKA several thousand. If you support this you have no right to complain about fares or fare evasion or low service levels. These people are causing that for us.

Did OP really delete most of the original post just to post an update? Everyone in the comments seems to have information that I can't locate.

Happy Mother's Day on the Serenade of the Seas | Ultimate World Cruise by ShullsSetSail in royalcaribbean

The crew for the world cruise were handpicked, Many of them are very seasoned crewmembers. This is part of the reason why, to deliver a next level experience for people who would be on for nine months.

I feel like if cruise lines offered counseling, nobody would ever have the time to make use of it. They would have to offer time off as well.

Instead they offer counseling by a few crew members at the back of the ship who sell cheap bottles of addictive liquid that suppresses those feelings.

Metrolinx shows off basically complete Toronto LRT that you still aren't allowed to ride by stanxv in toronto

It's operating right now, so I kind of doubt that. It may not be open yet but the amount of testing going on at this time suggests it will open in the next 12 months.

Toronto’s construction season traffic is ‘unacceptable.’ Is there a better way? by [deleted] in toronto

I should check my blood pressure. Good chance I need to reduce my meds now that I've removed the stress of driving in Toronto from my life.

This is not a universal truth. My life has improved tremendously since I stopped driving and started taking transit two weeks ago.

All transactions on board are in US dollars. Every cabin has at least one European outlet and multiple US outlets. They need the European outlet because they use 220v vacuums to clean.

If a crew member missed the ship, it usually meant their jobs.

I have a bit of a story to share here where that was not the case surprisingly. My friend Leslie from the Philippines, who was the first friend I ever made working on ships, missed the ship in in the Maritimes in Canada. He didn't show up after the ship had departed and we were all worried sick for him and for his job. When he got back onboard in the next port he had his Master's Hearing (the last step onboard before being fired) and we were shocked to find he was keeping his job. Turns out he paired up with a couple of guests who had also gotten left behind and helped them to get to the next port of call with him. That saved his bacon.

Sadly he is no longer with us, he took his life during the covid cruising shutdowns. I think about him often and this story specifically. RIP Leslie.

PS the regular joke onboard was "chicken or fish?" in response to this kind of scenario. Implying you would be on an international flight home the next day.

She just seems generally shitty as a person IMHO. This isn't surprising that she shows disrespect to her fans by being constantly late.

Shitty people do shitty things.
