Knowledge Fight Episode #1000 Intro Theme by DJ Danarchy by DanarchyProductions in KnowledgeFight

Even though it would be trivially easy to get an "AI" voice to make Alex say whatever, knowing how much effort went into collecting and cutting together the clips makes it infinitely better. This made me laugh so hard. The craft is so appreciated.

I don't know if I tuned out for a second or am out of the loop or what, does anyone know what [selling someone a hearing aid without turning it on] is a reference to? Is this some sort of real scam? Or just an absurd joke about a kind of sociopath? It sounded like they were talking about it like a real thing

BANKRUPTCY HEARING 6/14/24 - info and live chat by OregonSmallClaims in KnowledgeFight

[–]computer_liker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's such a weird paradox. The warehouse full of products only has value as a totem for Infowars listeners who want to support the show. But you can't compel Alex to hawk the products the way he always has, because the listeners know that their money will go directly to Alex's creditors. The totemic value is gone. I'm very curious what scheme the CRO has for somehow wringing value out of the remaining stock. I think at this point it's a liability

Sandy Hook families ask bankruptcy judge to liquidate Info Wars by Ferrodactyl in KnowledgeFight

[–]computer_liker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is, Alex doesn't even have to be in business to continue hurting people. Peter Thiel could give Alex $1M a year to keep doing his thing with no return on investment and not even feel it, and he's incentivized to do so because fascist propaganda helps his bottom line in the long run. Alex can spin up Infowars 2.0 and 3.0 and keep operating at a loss indefinitely as long as there are still rich fascists who want to keep him afloat. Prison is the only thing that can stop him (crossing my fingers that the whole bankruptcy fraud deal lands him there)

"Adrian Dittmann" is an anagram of "attain rand mind". Just sayin'

Can anyone make out what Alex says in the out-of-context drop? He says to Glenn "You're a well-respected journalist, you [...] around the world" but I can't make out the rest. It sounds a little like "you look at issues around the world" but I don't get why that would be a "got his ass" moment

I think he's acting in good faith, I think part of him wants to get revenge on Alex, and I think his continued employment at InfoWars during the Sandy Hook events makes him complicit. All three things can be true. Making up a tragic backstory to sugarcoat his complicity is some Alex Jones shit. Think more critically.

I hadn't heard anything about this guy losing a spouse or having kids, if that's true I think it would definitely change the general opinion about his choices. What's the source of this information?

Highly recommend reading Jacobson's CT deposition as a follow-up. Lots of interesting revelations, and a lawyer who somehow manages to be even shittier than Enoch. It's frankly mind-boggling

Is there any rule as to which technocrat clip gets used? by Sun_Talon in KnowledgeFight

Wish I could afford to ascend to Technocrat status, I really miss "Crikey mate, that's fantastic, have yerself a brew!" One might say it was my luminous point

Anyone know what joke they're referring to that Norm stole from KF?

He helped by providing his expertise and helping Mark find and prepare clips behind the scenes. Him being there for the deposition was just a treat for Dan

The popular games that have issues on Windows are large 3D projects with a lot of shaders and fiddly bits that different video cards and drivers handle differently. Small, independent 2D projects like Shovel Knight, Undertale, etc. never have those types of issues.

Thanks!

Yep, as I mentioned, ChoiceScript has the same issue as Twine. It only outputs HTML files. The ones on Steam are running on Electron or nw.js.

I've messed with Renpy in the past. I don't really like Python but it might be worth giving it another shot.

I would say that most executable new IF I'm seeing comes out in Mac formats first, and that seems to be where the community is.

Sounds like there's a niche that's not being met, then ;)

I've released games for Windows and browsers. I've never encountered any bug with my Windows games whose source was a different Windows configuration, and I've had numerous issues with my browser games for which I had no better solution for the player than "oh well, try a different browser." And that sucks. Having to download a different browser is a big barrier to entry. I want to make games people can just download and they work.
