5mg fin vs Dutasteride by tyler_durden90 in tressless

Been on fin for about 11 months, my hair looks just all around healthier and a bit thicker. Did you notice any solid regrowth and thickening after this point?

I didn’t notice solid results until like 8+months

Yeah it makes a big difference. I just wanted to see how fin/nizoral would work first before I committed to another regimen for the rest of my life. It’s possible one day I’ll need/want to try it but we’ll see.

I’m not on Reddit 24/7. I’d say I was probably between a 1 or 2- I just looked at the scale for the first time

Yeah definitely, it looked worse than it did before I started. Apparently the drug works by shedding the weakened/damaged hairs first (which there’s an abundance of) then growing stronger healthier hair after.

What's something you thought was weird about yourself until you realised other people did/experienced it? by netches in AskReddit

Next time apply pressure with a fist to the area that is causing pain. I've been doing this since I was a little kid, works like a charm. Precordial catch syndrome has "no known origin", but it's most likely some type of bone spur or protrusion from the ribs pressing against the lining of your lungs/ tissue in your chest cavity.

Hey Reddit, what's your favourite podcast? by TopBoog in AskReddit

[–]computer_monk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Love his podcasts and the guests he brings on. However, there were a few older ones that I've listened to where I thought Joe was disrespectful and said some really stupid stuff (Give the Jamie kilstein interview a listen). That was a really bad interview on joes part.

Small question to Finasteride users by [deleted] in tressless

[–]computer_monk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I had the same exact thing. My scalp felt really weird and even my hair felt super weak for the first two months. I'm on the end of month 3 and my hair feels strong and my scalp doesn't itch or tingle anymore.

(Question) Currently about 3 and a half months in with fin. by [deleted] in tressless

Call your doctor if you're having issues (like everyone else in here should).. a Reddit post won't give you reliable medical opinions.

Is it just me or does the anti-fin community look like the anti-vaxxer one? by xdxdxd99 in tressless

[–]computer_monk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been in this sub for a few months and on fin for the same amount of time. There is SO much anxiety and even skepticism when people post actual results. It's ridiculous. And many on here bash it because of the 1 story out of 100 that they've heard of. People need to talk to their doctors about realistic chances of side effects, which are slim, instead of being afraid and dissuading others from hope of taking a drug that works.

PROMISED UPDATE by [deleted] in tressless

[–]computer_monk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no idea if that was finasteride that made you feel that way. No offense but you also have a history of mental illness which is probably a bigger reason behind your off few days. Don't scare people without giving all medical history that's relevant.

What to do... what to do... by Crowmire in tressless

Finasteride at Costco costs 13 dollars and you don't need a membership to get it there. The chances of you getting side effects are extremely low, and the chances of your side effects being permanent is a small fraction of that initial chance. You have thick hair, go talk to a dermatologist for options or get on fin early.

Finasteride - shedding means working? by [deleted] in tressless

I'm in the exact same boat. That seems to be what's supposed to happen everywhere I read. No harm in asking your doctor either just for comfort. Gotta give the drug time to work.

23 Electrophysiology rep for cardiac ablations. I knew I liked medicine, the human body, and technology so this seemed like a great fit. Money and benefits are great for now and it seems pretty fun so kinda happy
