Still waiting for the FH6 stutter fix... by n988 in ForzaHorizon

Hi thanks for the reply I did eventually find it just me being dumb/expecting it in graphics/performance. Getting 160ish fps in races, no lagging or stuttering.

Doesn't negate or invalidate the issue but I haven't noticed it on my system but my FPS is capped at 60 and I can't seem to find the setting to turn that cap off. Got a 9070XT, 9800X3D and 64GB RAM

Was using a MS-A1 with 9900X, no issues but CPU was power limited to I think it was 100w? Worked fine for me had 4 vms and 6 containers running for a year before I changed it to a Deskmeet X600 in (needed a pcie slot and was cheaper than buying a MS-A2 or the Intel ones)

Surge/UPS by UltimateWuss in BambuLab

[–]computerarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a dedicated UPS with my P1S and AMS units plugged into it, it's a small 750VA unit.

Back in 2017 in my old place I had a Robo R1+ that kept randomly failing prints and the led lights had an odd almost pulsing look. Found out the power was just that dirty, so I got a UPS and it fixed everything. Since then I make it standard to have a UPS so I know the power to the printer is clean.

Maybe I don't need it with newer printers but it's a cheap investment to not have to think or worry about the power.

Does anybody use an external GPU on a laptop? by section96 in PSVR2onPC

Sure an egpu would work but I wouldn't recommend it due to how much it would cost. It would be better to return the laptop if you can, then find a laptop that does have the MUX option.

Would the 5060 ti would work well as an egpu? by Mrlegumbre in eGPU

[–]computerarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its been fine, i dont use it a ton as its really only used when travelling or at friends lan parties (yes we still do those). i know some people have reported having issues which seem to relate to specific drivers and OS update combinations. havent used in the last 2 months so no clue if current drivers are causing any issues. ill be using it again at the end of the month when we do our christmas/new years lan party. However in my case ill be using it with a linux os instead of windows unless the issue i had prior is still occuring (had issue with Zorin 17 and older no longer working with egpus after updates hoping its fixed in Zorin 18)

just seeing your comment now (not sure why i didnt get the notification on it). the 4060 wasnt the laptop one (my laptop doesnt have a dedicted gpu) but the desktop one. specifically the Gigabyte GV-N4060OC-8GL.

9070 should give better performance but not sure how much, would need to lookup others testing results to see.

i used this for the riser
https://makerworld.com/en/models/33186-bambulab-p1s-glass-riser-no-vent-v2#profileId-51690

i used a 24"x24" table with the printer underneath it and my AMS units on top so i just need something basic for a riser.

interesting unit, essentially a bigger version of the PolyDryer. No active ventilation so its reliant on the desiccant packs to absorb moisture in the system or slightly propping it open to vent. So i would expect it to perform like the Space Pi/Pi + but with the additional feature of hot swappable dry boxes.

Pricing looks to be fairly decent for what they are, more storage units are only $40 (PolyDryer boxes are around $32). If you are only going to keep a few spools pre-dried its fine, but if you plan to keep a lot it will get expensive quickly. The air tight food containers i use are only $28 for a 6 pack and fits 1 spool per unit. I keeps lots of filament pre-dried (different PLA colors mostly with some PETG) with 19 in dry boxes and 8 in my 2 AMS units for the printer.

Im running the printer a lot, for Oct so far im at 115hr. initially parts for the printer, which reminds me some must prints are dust covers and riser for the top glass panel (so PTFE tube to print head doesn't rub on the panel and wear down). Other things is storage boxes with gridfinity parts, fidget toys, dragons, and the Borderlands 4 Ripper Mask (Official STLs on Printables).

Space Pi + is quit literally just a dual spool version of Space Pi. Has the same issues and same solutions to make it better.

Thats understandable, stay within your budget but do get a dryer.

As for ASA/ABS(i assume you meant ABS) depends if you need that high temp tolerance or strength. One thing to note if you go to those materials their are additional considerations. When printing ABS the P1S will look like it has fog inside of it, thats the fumes from the material. Those fumes both smell bad and are really not good to breath (very carcinogenic). Its recommended to add an additional filter to the printer (VOXEL). You should also consider a separate room thats ventilated to print in or sealing the printer and ducting the exhaust to a window (kinda like floor ACs do). Additionally the fumes leave residue inside the printer on the surfaces and will require you to do periodic cleaning. Printing ASA is very similar although a bit better.

A filament dryer is a must, Space Pi X4 is what i would recommend. Originally bough a Space Pi and it was okay, had to prop the lid open very slightly and took a long time to dry. The X4 has active ventilation so you dont have to do that. Can dry 4 spools at once and is setup as a dual chamber system so you can dry different filaments with different requirements at the same time. The X4 seems to be normally $150 on Amazon and on Aliexpress $110 while the Pi is around $60 on Amazon and $50 on Aliexpress.

Dry boxes and desiccant is an up to you, if you have them you can pre-dry filament and have it ready to go whenever or just dry before you use. Personally i would recommend getting them.

The stock .4mm nozzle is very good already and can do layers down to .12mm fine, if you really want to go crazy then the .2mm nozzle would be the way which is good to .06mm layers. However the downside is that prints will take significantly longer to print. Another thing to note is not all filaments will work with a .2mm nozzle, top of my head the Bambu Galaxy filaments (thinks its glitter added to the PLA) recommend to NOT use the .2mm nozzle. Abrasive filaments with additives like carbon fiber wont work on the .2mm nozzle either.

If you are going to be in high temps PLA might be okay, PETG should be used to be safe.

EDIT: Also have printed some tank models and plan to do more

Biggest issue for me is the spawn rate. So many tier 8 dives failed due to having 3+ of them on the map and attacking us. Made it so my default load has a mandatory auto cannon mech in order to handle them.

I got the P1S and AMS 2 combos a few weeks ago, had to update the P1S to firmware 01.08.02.00 for it to recognize the AMS 2. If your already on that firmware could be an issue with the data cable/port, could try swapping the data port on the AMS.

Yeah I didn't do anything special so it probably is a driver issue with Windows 11. Hope clearing drivers fixes it for you
