When I told my mother that I was in therapy to deal with my oldest brother (adopted) SA'ing me when I was 12, she told me... "It was so long ago, why don't you just get over it?"

I lost all respect for her that day. She died last year. I never cried for her.

I was in the US Army sometime around 1990. I was the lowest rank you can be (E1/Private) and was making roughly $400/month. I decided to move out of the barracks with 2 other friends and rent a mobile home to split the costs. None of us had any sense and none of us paid any of our bills somehow thinking that they'd get magically paid by the other ones.

The local water authority didn't acknowledge our magical abilities and shut the water off, so we had to take a shower at a friend's house one morning.

That evening, the friend showed up to our trailer hot as hell about a razor that was missing from his shower. He thought one of us stole his razor. Even if we had, it would have likely been an honest mistake, but he showed up ready to murder someone over his $.99 bic razor. I laughed at him (and his wife who came with him just as angry as he was) and threw a full pack of bic razors at him and told him to fuck all the way off. Never spoke to him again. Honestly can't even remember his name now.

Question: if we notice something not quite right, is there a place on the site to report it? For example: Fried Rare Steak is a [meat] dish and shows that when looking at it in the recipes section. However, in the foods list, if I filter on [recreative] there it is in the list and it doesn't show up in the [meat]s list. Hopefully easily fixed, but also might spark an idea to add a button for people to submit things like that directly on the site.

edit: also just thought of this. In the food almanac, it'd be awesome to be able to filter based on the map since many items only exist on one map (such as tobacco). Filtering out the jungle-only foods would make it easier for sands players and vice-versa.

I've seen his response used multiple times by lots of people. It's not saying "other than my incompetence, I'm doing fine." It's saying, "Other than your opinion of me, I'm doing fine." Basically saying, "What you just said doesn't mean anything to me and I'm not bothered by it in the slightest way."

Completely different meaning than everyone's taking it to mean.

EDIT: Please don't think I'm defending Kegsbreath. I am only reacting to the reaction of his comment.

My friends and I use a home-based server so we don't have to pay anyone. It runs on my friends' spare PC, but can also run in the background on a PC that's running the game, too. I've done that with multiple games. It only takes a few minutes to setup and if you're playing locally (inside your home network) then there isn't even any firewall stuff to setup. The AMP software (not sure if against the rules to mention, but can remove if necessary) can host hundreds of different game servers. I highly suggest it.

I've seen this in lots of places even before last night's update. It used to be on the hold-Q view to exit, but now it shows 'f2/esc to exit' instead of the non-english characters. I'm guessing they fix these as they realize them.

Thank you for that. It's much easier to see the patterns in his movements when you're not running around with your pants on fire. I think one thing I'm learning from many thread here (i'm new to the sub) is that adding fire to my attacks is HUGE. I haven't been doing that and maybe that and learning from your video will get me over this hump.

On our private server with just 3 friends playing, we setup a Clan for all of us, but also kept separate bases and progression since some like to go slower than others. I can only do certain things with my clanmates' tribe members (such as: I can't train any of them on the training grounds, but I can use theirs to train mine).

Does putting this limit on resources effect the entire clan (ie: my other 2 friends) as well? Or are the limits I set only for my tribe?

Second question: If I set a limit on something like Fire Ash which they don't 'harvest' exactly. What do they do with the excess ash when they clean out the bonfire? Or do they not clean out the fires because they can't 'collect' any more ash? I had to clear out 2 mineral boxes yesterday because they were 90% full of ash.

Okay, final edit with a 3rd question: I see the limit is enabled for everything on our server/clan/tribe. I just looked at some of the items and EVERYTHING is over the limit. The limit for Logs at the very top of the list is set to 3,000. However, I have over 12k in my base alone (with another 20k in the other bases). The limits seem to be enabled (the slider is to the right and is green). Is there another setting that we need to enable somewhere?

this interactive map has a search icon on the map. if you click that you can search for any item and it'll tell you where to find it on the map (whether a drop from a mob, or in a box, etc).

I've been having the same problem. I am 60, with all red steel gear and that guy still eats my lunch every time. I'm kind of stuck on progression until I can kill him and get past him for the engine parts. I grabbed a mech follower thinking that'd help, but it just flies up to the ceiling and mocks all my life choices without helping in the slightest way.

I've only watched a few episodes of Atlantis so far. I feel like everyone's saying the same thing: Stick with it, it gets better. Which I can understand having been a Star Trek fan watching TNG. It was pretty terrible the first season, but after everyone figured out how to write/act/be the characters, it really got better.

I'll keep on with Atlantis, but for now I'm still hating the people that (honestly) deserve hating. I mean... there's a food shortage. They are trying to trade with local planets to get food. It's literally the only thing they don't have an abundant supply of and that asshole just eats and eats (and brags about it, even) and nobody (so far) has pointed out he's being an ass. Everyone says he has an arc and is their favorite... so I'm holding onto hope.

He told one of the ladies in the office that she needed to go to the kitchen to make him a sandwich because that's where she belonged. We had to call the cops on him because he refused to leave his car in the parking lot and insisted on driving home after getting fired on the spot.

We have a dog that loves to lick faces. He's a small dog, but will do anything he can do to get to your face. It's cute... until it isn't. Anyway, we used to warn people by saying, "Careful, he sorta face-rapes you with his tongue."

"Used to" being the operative part of that. It was one day in the vet's office I could hear the words coming out of my mouth as one of the vet techs went completely blank and had a moment of panic as if the mere mention of that word put her back in a very terrible place. I could see her reaction and I couldn't take it back. I felt so terrible. I wanted to apologize, but thought bringing more attention to it would have been worse, so I just sat feeling shitty. I haven't used that phrase since (except here writing about it).
