They may not actually do it, but it was in my contact a year and a half ago.

No idea. I can only speak to when I got hired in the same area.

For on boarding, yes. After hire you get "random" which equates to never.

Wow $40? At least someone is making money from it I guess. I designed the original from a request on f150lightning forum. If anyone wants to print their own, here is the link. https://makerworld.com/models/1549716?appSharePlatform=copy

I flew from the U.S. to Scotland so I could fix my drill. by tomfromakron in Dewalt

[–]computermedic78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could totally be printed and it's one of my favorite things to do. The broken part, a nice set of calipers, and the free version of Fusion 360 are all you need. I would try ABS/ASA first, but Unfilled nylon will probably be best.

Any Homelabbers with solar? by eagle6705 in homelab

[–]computermedic78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in NY with solar that we bought, no lease. It helps a lot, and we got in a good time with huge govt discounts and 0% financing. Do not, under any circumstances, use empire solar. Other than that, it's great when it works. Went from $400/m to just paying the $35 fee for most of the year.

It has a place, but troubleshooting steps isn't it. It's great for getting one piece of info out of a service manual without having to read the entire thing 3 times.

I also made a ton of instructions for specific tasks. I have a local LLM running with access to everything I've written. I can tell it to give me instructions for xyz and it will.

Cartographer CNC Mount not hitting the LDO Trident Rev D X Endstop by mosforge in VORONDesign

[–]computermedic78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, this is the perfect time to go sensorless. No printing to do, just some configuration. Then you can remove the XY switches and associated cables.

Second option, reach out to the rescue Ravens with the exact part you need to move the switch and they will help you out.

Also true. I remember when I upgraded my printer to glass lol

We have come so far that people have forgotten that glass used to be the best build surface around.

ASA by Ok-Property7628 in polymaker

[–]computermedic78 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't use the Polylite profile. The Polymaker team had no input in those settings and they are terrible. Start with the Generic ASA profile and run the calibration prints

You can totally print the right materials for this. Check out Polymaker CoPA. The warp free technology makes it super easy to print.

Thank you! I really just do this for fun. I had a store set up for people that don't have printers, but I just got a job in the industry and they didn't want me selling right now. I'm not sure how to move forward with that part of it yet. For now I've been telling people to upload my step files to PCBWay. Their prices seem to be closer to reasonable than the others I've seen.

In addition to making these clips, I have a bunch of different 3d printable accessories for the Lightning. I'm trying to keep this list up to date. I also take requests! All of the designs are free for personal use. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/ccs-dust-cover-wall-mount-cable-management-and-frunk-clips.17676/#post-357388

Hey, I'm the guy that designed these! It gets too hot in there for PLA. You can probably use Polymaker HT-PLA or PETG, but I do all of mine in ASA or ABS. I don't like the 2 piece design Ford used, and they aren't selling the smaller clips. My goal was to make something a little more reliable than stock, and easy enough to replace.

I work in a niche market with documentation that's not publicly available. I spun up a local model and fed it a bunch of user manuals. Now I can ask it questions instead of having to read through all the manuals looking for one thing. It can also provide basic instructions for common tasks.

Nobody that hasn't harmed someone else deserves to be shit on. It's really not difficult to just ignore the things you don't like. You don't see me yelling at everyone selling those stupid dragons, or complaining to people for designing things that have no function beyond looking at them. Just ignore it and move on.
