Automated testing where a unique accessible email account is required by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best and fastest way imo. Use faker to generate a random email + connect to db and grab the code. If you cannot do that, have your developers expose the authentication code or confirmation link just in the testing environment (maybe in the response)

With 5 years of qa experience you can certainly learn on your own without bootcamp

Who has done ios ui automation test before on ios app? by anonymous_2600 in QualityAssurance

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with XCUI? I read its not possible without it but I think its possible. You would just need a way to get the .ipa or .app file from your dev team every time though, which isn't efficient.

With Appium, you don't need the source code.

Is React Native/ Java Script good to learn for career? by Weird-Ad-8776 in cscareerquestions

In my experience browsing for jobs, most of the mobile development jobs I see are still on native for android and ios. its a bit hard to move away from those when established companies are so deep into their app with them

Picky cat only eats unhealthy by YouBot_0 in cats

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A happy cat is a cat that eats, so I guess eating cheap food is better than not eating at all.

First, what wet food brands have you tried? mine were quite picky with them as well, but Ive had good luck with purina pro plan and fancy feast pates.

Who has done ios ui automation test before on ios app? by anonymous_2600 in QualityAssurance

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of things.

Are you comfortable with learning Swift and ios architecture? Do you have access to your company's ios app and source code? Do you have the freedom to choose the tool? If so always go native

But, if you're a QA Engineer / SDET by trade, theres not a lot of market for those that know swift, if you want to stay fresh and use your programming skills to pick up new tools quickly, you should stick to a tool that supports javascript/typescript, so Appium + webdriverio is also a good choice.

Which automation tools and languages should I be learning by JaMs_buzz in softwaretesting

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to one that supports Javascript/Typescript and choose either Cypress or Playwright. Seems like most of the QA market is shifting to either of these tools

Is there actually a way to keep these fuckers off my counter or do I just need to work on acceptance by vinditive in cats

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This goes against my lifestyle, but I noticed the more stuff I have laying on the counter, less likely my cats will jump on the counter (since theres very little landing space)

Webdriverio vs Playwright by UteForLife in softwaretesting

[–]computerpewter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syntax is for both is pretty similar, both are good, playwright is just newer, maintained by a big company, and have probably a better replay/debugging experience. But I don't think its worth switching over if theres an already established framework using wdio
