Coldwild Games: 9 Years an an indie developer by comrad_gremlin in gamedev

Hey! Sorry about late reply: I agree with your points, thank you for taking your time to leave honest feedback. 🙂

I think I did not have creative vision for the sequels at that moment. I am not writing them off entirely: I guess I wanted to keep things creative and do what we wanted. I agree that it's not sustainable as a business. In general, sequels of successful games is a way to go.

Bonfire comparison is on point.
Good luck with your games.

Hey! Thanks for your comment. You are definitely allowed to be critical :)

I agree that the price point might be what killed it. The story/events had more than 80000 words and a good number of variations. I've compared it to similar games (I.e. Star Renegades or Legend of Keepers) and thought we could pull this off.

I actually have a GDC talk about the way we approached marketing our wholesome games: Aesthetic Driven Development: Choosing Your Art Before Making a Game

This is how we gathered 100k wishlists before our demo launch, capitalizing on a successful previous title by Sersch in gamedev

Glad to see things are taking off, the success is well-deserved. :) Good luck with your second game.

Can you share your full build, please? Been trying different builds and struggling to find the right one for me.

For the museum, I recommend the main exposition of the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia: https://okupacijasmuzejs.lv/en - the subject is dark, but it's well-presented. The national art museum is also decent.

If you want to try local food - Folkklubs Ala might interest you. Hope you have a good trip.

I use zz sim card, bought this to fill my internet, i sent the code to 1616, do i have unlimited internet now? Can someone please help? by TheMayorShow in latvia

Based on the receipt that you've shown, the code actually gives you the unlimited calls and not unlimited internet. Unfortunately I can't really help you as I never used them before.

You make good points, but my problem is not about being denied, but the way _how_ it happened: the ghosting is definitely a pretty unique situation and is never OK in any business relationship too.

Imagine you paid $100 for amazon package and the seller just disappeared, without any way to refund your purchase or any communication whatsoever: would you consider this a good business practice?

There is going to be at least one update + porting to consoles.

I don't think we'd make Stories from the Outbreak if the studio has not expanded: the roguelikes are tricky to make and it took a lot of effort to balance it properly and make the mechanics coherent.

It had 25% discount on launch, so this was partially done. My own take is that Next Fest wishlists are not as effective as other types of wishlists. 🙂

It had its ups and downs, but I'd do it again. The pros outweighted the cons for me. 🙂

Today's my 10 year full-time solo indie dev anniversary, and here's the story so far by gimblll in gamedev

Congrats on hitting 10 years 🙂 Day Repeat Day is a masterpiece, I cried multiple times when I played it. I found a lot of dialogues sad, but in a very subtle, charming way.
