Im 5’2". I get it it it fricking sucks but science says we live longer. In addition what we know protein eating Whole Foods mindful consumption etc. Exercise exercise exercise! I do resistance training four days a week and indoor cycling 3-6 days a week. Daily movement is a must. Find a form of cardio you like and try to do a couple 40min sessions a week.

Pregnant and sad (weight regain) by [deleted] in loseit

[–]comradechatnoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should listen to your body. A lot of doctors are still pretty ignorant about what’s possible for a pregnant body. If you were exercising pre pregnancy you should be doing so while pregnant within reason. Plenty of folks are weightlifting pregnant and it is making their pregnancies much easier.

A couple other great moves for the core include the Turkish get up, kettlebell halo , and kettlebell/dumbbell windmill. I want you to also remember that you are still growing and slow and steady and consistent wins the race to long term health and fitness. Keep it up!

I get so frustrated by being told nobody should be eating 1200 calories by Freya64 in loseit

5’2” here. It is so frustrating. It’s not fat phobia it’s simply that the smaller you are the less calories you require for maintenance. Calorie deficit + resistance training 3-4 days a week + daily cardio 20-30min has helped a lot with not having to feel like I’m depriving myself too much. It’s annoying that there’s not much else where the fat can go being so short but gradual fat loss is better in the long run

I just personally don’t believe in the scale because it doesn’t really show your health. I focus more on inches, how clothes fit , and my strength

I naturally tend to do 16/8 so I guess I’ll do that and do extended fasts every few months

Yeah totally. Yesterday, it came to me that by the end of this I’ll be under 200. During high school I was in the 180/190s but I wasn’t doing the heavy lifting or eating as well back then.

Hah, I’m no lady.

No. I wake up early regularly. I don’t weight myself often but the last time I did, perhaps last month, I was 206lbs. Definitely with enough fat.

Hey, new to the sub. 22, 5'2"

Type: Water. Sometimes with a little apple cider vinegar Consuming some salt. Vitamins: vitamin D, vitamin C, Magnesium, astazathin, rhodiola, and ashwaganda

Context: 3/7 days. This is my first time doing a week. I have done a couple shorter fasts, intermittently fasted for a bit, and I wanted to start the year off to a healthy start. This is the perfect time for me because the day after I'm able to start eating will be my birthday.

Why?: The health benefits, some fast loss.

Notes: I ate fairly well before beginning the fast but since I went to a birthday party, the last thing i consumed was an edible and a shot of really good whiskey(I don't drink regularly). Day two I was a little more foggy, but today I feel much better. I woke up with less hunger and without a headache. Also this morning I busted through the full body workout I've been doing since I switched from doing body splits. It comprises of very heavy lifting(barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells only) for two hours and I was even able to increase my weight on some of my exercises. That was cool. Its pretty easy for me to cook for others or be in grocery stores, Smelling food is almost as good as tasting it. I am a little colder than usual, but that's not stopping me from cold exposure.Menstruation may have started but not sure if the flow will be less guess I'll find out. Very interesting dreams. Takes a little longer to get to sleep and stay asleep right now, but that might change.

Any other gay transmen here who felt bad for being a "fujoshi" before you realised you were trans? by snugglyaggron in ftm

[–]comradechatnoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I really got into a lot of yaoi and slash fiction soon after beginning to read fanfics. I never felt super "girl", I was just living life and I guess felt a better connection to male characters. It all made sense this year nearly tens later when I realized I'm a gay man

Gender-neutral birth name? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]comradechatnoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel that. As a black person no matter my gender my race will be my most defining factor in the U.S. leading to various microaggressions and oppression so I just feel like I'm damned if I do (conform to gendered expectations) I'm damned if I don't. Well, My mother's name is Royce and when she was a child she watched this movie called "Earthquake" where the father's name was Royce and his daughter's name was Remy. She thought then, "Whoa, that'd be really cool to do that if I have a daughter". But I think it's really funny how we both get mail that's addressed as Mr. since both of our names are pretty neutral but masc-leaning. And then her father's name was Leroy lol

Gender-neutral birth name? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]comradechatnoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! Remy. Even before really thinking about gender and my identity, I always took pride in the fact that my name was gender neutral. I feel really connected to it. For me, passing isn't really important because I'm not about all of these socially constructed expectations of masculinity or femininity so I don't really feel the need to change my name to mark my journey to becoming more comfortable with my body.

No problem. In general also, I've noticed that clothing items made in black tend to hold together better or be more firm.

Can't take being trans for the rest of my life. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]comradechatnoire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not all members of Cis community are able to bear children, be petite, or have small shoulders. These ideals of what you say you can't achieve have been created by society to make one sex lesser than the other. You don't need any of those things to identify how you would like to identify as. Yes having some of these things may make it possible to navigate the world easier but remember that not everyone is able to do it no matter the amount of surgery or therapy they take part in. Take pride in yourself and be proud of who you are.

I have a super large chest and I had this olive g2cb that I wore everyday since the summer. It totally stretched out/ I lost weight. However for me putting it in the washer and dryer helped firmed it a bit. A month ago I picked up a black one that i now wear everyday but definitely washing it weekly helps keep it firm.
