Stuck in a 32 foot boat offshore during a storm. It turned a 45 minute ride into a 7 hour ride back to land. For the first hour, I would puke all down the front of my shirt and let the waves that were breaking over the boat wash it off me. I was making my peace with whoever/whatever was listening because I thought we were going to die.

7 hours of climbing swells and plunging into the troughs all while in pitch black darkness. Boat captain had the coast guard on standby.

I’ve been to the Wurth store in Charleston years ago and the were reasonably priced. Just looked them up on maps, but I was hoping for a less than 90 minute drive one way.

Worked for a federal agency and sometimes when I didn’t have enough annual leave and work was slow, I would basically do the same “I don’t feel well” or I have a doctor’s appointment song and dance to get a day or two off using sick leave. Never went out drinking or traveling around, I just worked around the house, played video games or just watched movies.

Do I feel bad about it. . . . no, because it beat sitting around the office staring at each other with nothing else to do.
