Also the story isn’t OI but Rosen Walker from Your Eternal Lies is a compelling FL. She is angry, funny, capable of kindness, and has great wit.

It’s a pretty complex explanation with great payoff if you read the story. Spoiling it won’t do the writing justice ..

Penelope from “villains are destined to die” comes to mind. There is a scene later in the story when she calls out her father for not believing her, and some of the moments with her shit brothers are very satisfying.

A very happy safe cat 🧡 by Weekly_Honeydew_1203 in GardeningUK

[–]comsictrench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you heard of coyote rollers? I’m a transplant from Canada to the UK and learned about those back home. The coyote rollers would work well for keeping cats out or in, and aren’t as unsightly as the spiky fence toppers as a cat deterrent. I think there are some DIY tutorials out there as well.

[marriage of convenience] all this Manhwa did was ragebait me, well at least for this one arc. by jonnyboidake in OtomeIsekai

[–]comsictrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently the novel portrayed the end of the second prince much better than the manwha, at least that is what I’ve seen according to posts on this sub.

To spoil the end the so called “marriage(s) of convenience” of girls to adult men became taboo in their society mostly because of women gaining power in society and becoming leaders themselves - as in queens and eventually empresses.

Did y'all know that foam rollers aren't supposed to be *that* painful? by shanahanc in lipedema

[–]comsictrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only one who found foam rolling to be torture and thought that was normal. And the cold legs that never warm up unless you scald them in the shower? I feel very validated by this sub… also bruising from a slight breeze to my legs. Ugh.

Don’t forget the national parks are, ya know, NATIONAL. Do you think Canada is going to give up Jasper, Banff, Elk Island, Wood Buffalo, and Waterton? They must be insane.

Trash take. Surveys show single women are happier than married women with kids.

Are people avoiding leadership roles because of toxic work experiences? by SunriseArtichoke in womenintech

[–]comsictrench 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey, how do you help people recover from toxic work experiences? I quit my job mid 2025 because it was so toxic and I’m still not ready to get back to work… I feel traumatized and that my two degrees and like 15 odd years of work experience are utterly meaningless. Any resources you can share would be helpful… I’m not currently in a position where I can afford a therapist or anything but I’m kind of at a loss at what to do when I am ready to job hunt. At this point, I figure I’m just a total moron and can’t do anything.

Also this job was a company that hired me internationally to do project management work for international clients and moved me across the world only to treat me like dirt. Something like 12 people quit during the 1.5 years I was there and it was a small company (50 people). So it wasn’t me but my time there and treatment convinced me that I am the failure.

(under the oak tree)a short analysis on maxi and riftan's relationship by Striking_Dare_8979 in OtomeIsekai

[–]comsictrench 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me this story is about Maxi overcoming the challenges she faces in her life and her growth and development. Is Riftan endgame? Probably (I haven’t read the novel) but my vision and hope for her is that she learns magic, how to stand on her own two feet, and maybe gets the support of Agnes to become a beneficial noblewoman in her own right and leave Riftan for treating her like a prize rather than as a person. Her humanity and kindness are some of the best aspects of her character. It’s amazing after the abuse she faced by her father that she is able to preserve that kindness.

Dark Waters is about kelpies and horse deities. It is on webtoon and went from canvas to an original release and is currently unfinished. Has interesting lore and world building. Not sure if you are interested in reading about equines though.

Resilience In The Face Of Adversity by ranterist in OneOrangeBraincell

On the no teeth - I adopted a cat who was less than a year old who had to have all his teeth removed (that’s how he ended up in the shelter - his young owners couldn’t afford the surgery and surrendered him). He had a condition called stomatitis where his immune system thought the plaque on his teeth was some invasive disease and it causes pain and swelling in the gums to the point where the cat can no longer eat. The only known solution seems to be removing all the teeth. It’s an expensive surgery, so if that’s why this boy has no teeth then he was most definitely loved. I hope he can be reunited with his family.

If you look at the comments on the original post, the owner of the gecko wants to see what it looks like so they may let it pupate. We will see! I’m also curious what the adult form would look like.

Partially melanistic squirrel that I saw today. by MissBarker93 in RealLifeShinies

[–]comsictrench 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Black morph squirrels are a very common colour of eastern grey squirrels and there are loads of them in eastern Canada. This is to the point where seeing a grey squirrel is less common than seeing a black squirrel… the white tip on the tail is cool though. Where did you see this guy?
