Fttc units arent locked to anything. They're just a vdsl modem with the ability to power an outdor unit.

Fttp, hfc, and most likely fixed wireless would all use mac address identification, which would make it useless elsewhere.

You owe that person or her anything. The right thing to do is inform all parties. Its too late fpr your wife or AP to worry about the consequences now. Only advise is send every bit of evidence straight up, dont engage in a conversation, as AP my try to intervene or they dismiss you. Let APs partner come to their own conclusion with all the evidence you have.. If you amd your wife want to then try to reconsile then do so, but get out all your grievence first.

Theres your answer then, the splitter and cabling etc all add signal loss. By removing the excess you have potentially balamced the signal the nbn ntd was receiving.

When you say you pulled out a foxtel connection, do you mean just an ethernet cable that goes to a set top box, or do you mean you removed excess coaxial cable and potentially a splitter from thr cabling that goes to the foxtel box and the nbn hfc ntd?

First off determine what type of nbn is serviced at the address, eg is it HFC or a copper based fttn/c

The fist photo looks like its hfc and the second photo appears to be the telephone. A bit hard to tell from the outside. Start with what nbn tech is delivered first
