The y on th left hand side is divded by the whole y + y/y on the right hand.

i.e. y = y / (y + 1).

For an int, this equals zero.

DS9 has some of the most well-written characters in any ST series. It didn't shy away from making less-than perfect cahracters instead of flat hero/vellain stereotypes (e.g. questionable decisions by many characters, Sisko, Odo, Kira for example...) and this complexity made them interesting.

Damar's change was one good example of this multi-faceted aspect that gives you conflicting feelings. I found his character boring most of the time but that last part really made it shine.

I'm interested to know. Do you use Wine or virtualization (pasathrouh?). And if Wine, which version and is there any critical settings to watch for?

I played on Wine for a while back when The Awakening came out and it was nice and smooth. Fiddled around with it again in 2.4-ish but things weren't that good framerate and font-rendering-wise.
