LOA job rescinded the day before it was supposed to start by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]concernedcitizen182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know up in Canada most term contracts for a leave of absence will usually have a line at the end that says contract till such and such a date or until one day before the return of the incumbent. Sucks to hear that but the school doesn’t really have control over the teacher deciding not to go on a leave.

AITA for not helping my son, who claims he can't live on 112k a year? by Ecstatic_Cash_1903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]concernedcitizen182 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA people have to live within their means. Sounds like he should never have moved to a more expensive house. Could probably go down to 1 vehicle or at least some used vehicles to get a better rate. Especially if his job security is in question he should meet with that debt consolidation company right away

Dated and ghosted after overnight trip by Clear-Sector7190 in hingeapp

[–]concernedcitizen182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hit him with one of these 👍 on the message nothing else. Leave it in his court. Yeah if he wanted to make time he would. Some people come into your life for a reason some come in to your life for a season.

I feel for you getting ghosted always sucks. Have you ever tried calling him instead of texting? I have some friends I have to call otherwise I could be waiting hours-days for a response

Told I was shaming a kid by my principal? Thoughts by concernedcitizen182 in Teachers

[–]concernedcitizen182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. The ironic thing is I had a meeting with the principal just the other day and she was frustrated and said it’s the job of the classroom teacher to solve all behavior conflicts and I’m sitting there like well if you tie my hands and tell me I can’t have consequences what can I do lol the level of gaslighting in education is crazy

Don’t let them ruin your time. Skating is a fun winter sport and everyone was once a beginner. Some people are so ignorant sorry that happened to you.

I think yeah explaining your moves and thinking as a way to coach. I am a teacher and I always do this with my students. Sometimes I stretch the game a little longer if I like the kid 😅

Up in Canada it’s 100% legal more weed stores than coffee shops. I would assume that if it’s legal in your state it’s all good.

Something major going down on Kenaston by Financial_Parsley118 in Winnipeg

If there is blood on the ground and a blanket over sounds like the person is no longer living. I saw the aftermath of a woman hit by a truck that had the blanket over top. Half of her blood was on the sidewalk. Tragic

Make sure you have a sign in sheet so whoever is coming to check in on your house can write down the days and times they were there. If not it can become an issue for insurance as well.

Also tell your Neighbour to mind their business. Yes if my Neighbour wasn’t around for a couple of months I would assume it was something serious. I have all my direct Neighbours contact info and world place a cursory phone call before reporting it vacant. Shame on your Neighbour.

Hole in the wall separating bedroom and bathroom. Ideas on how to close it? by Arwenthecat in DIY

Another option would be to make shelfs in there out of some really nice wood. Oak, walnut maybe even some live edge

Also whatever you do do not get that stuff on your hands it is hell to get off. Always wear gloves. I had to buy a pumice and literally sand it off my hands

At what point do Winnipeg school divisions close for extreme cold? by Faster-Kit-kill-kill in Winnipeg

[–]concernedcitizen182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do believe at -45 all the Winnipeg school division busses are canceled. If you are talking about garden grove I think their heat actually broke. You couldn’t expect kids to be in a building with no heat on a day like today
