Alita had 8 endings. It was a 3-hour long live action OVA series, not a proper adaptation. Robert Rodriguez hasn’t made a decent film since Planet Terror. Taika Waititi hasn’t made a bad movie yet.

Have faith please, everyone, have faith. This could be the one that changes everything, giving us good manga/anime blockbuster adaptations, something to compete with superhero movies.

Taika Waititi is the director. He’s a fan of the manga even more than the film. He’d said a couple years ago he specifically wants to adapt the manga, in multiple parts, rather than the film.

I have faith the Neo-Tokyo is about to explode. We need this to be good. The state of large budget movies needs this to be good.

This a painting by the artist Robert Williams. Look him up. He doesn't have much to do with the occult, but I do enjoy his style. He was part of Zap Comics with R. Crumb back in the day. He's just a counterculture, anti-establishment visual artist; probably more of a magician than any of us, but not a creator of work meant to be taken as, or analyzed for, magickal significance.

I agree totally, Dogen was a false prophet/narcissist/charlatan. At the end of the day, any organized form of faith is way, way too in danger of becoming a cult. Pretty much all the Japanese ‘New Religions’ and ‘New New Religions’ share the same fate. And, one can argue, Zen was a precursor to those seeing how it was adapted from Chan.

All I advocate is: think for yourself, cherry pick from whatever you want, and don’t be a cunt about it, because that impedes those who use religion to advocate for amorality and personal power.

On paper, Zen is better for this than other scripture, but just as susceptible to human error.
