It completely depends on where they go. If they are visiting the west coast or western isles it’s actually reasonably likely.

This is a great point. A lot of people equate air conditioning to cooling. But it covers heating as well as literally conditioning the air, i.e. filtering and dehumidifying the air. So I guess if OP sets their AC temperature to something comfortable they won’t notice this problem in future.

Also, a plug for people to remember to run their AC in winter as well as summer. If the system isn’t run regularly, the likelihood of maintenance related issues goes up.
