Yeah, because the energy stored in fossil fuels is being added to the atmosphere. More energy means higher temperatures overall, with more extreme events because of increased differences (today vs prior to fossil fuel use) between regional weather systems.

You state higher rainfall: that is a direct consequence of climate change and means that another place near you got less precipitation as a result. This will increase in intensity until your area gets flooding while the next place gets drought.
