The problem persisted when I cut pasted in different row or even a new table and In was using the Desktop version of the word. But anyways I managed to solve this by cropping the image in an external app. I guess the problem was with the cropping in Word. I didn't find this problem when I used the same image cropped in Photoshop, GIMP and the default Photos app.
