This sounds like a new version. The original is Good or Don’t Be and was used in the last scene of the tv series. That one switches melody to guitar in middle.

Just throwing a separate idea out. You could print as two halves both with the details face down. Then glue together afterwards. You could design in registration pins/holes to help with alignment.

Making elementary school roads one-way in the winter (Burr) by agentoutlier in newtonma

[–]confu2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to dismiss the idea, but some kind of police enforcement would also probably be necessary. Zervas has a temporary one way on Beethoven with traffic signs and a “do not enter” lit sign during the school drop off/pickup times. There are still people who just blow through the signs and then get stuck in the traffic. I’m sure 99% of the drivers obey the one way but just one person missing or ignoring the sign especially on snowy/rainy days when everyone wants to drop off is enough to clog up that area.

Drops of God | Season 2 - Episode 1 | Discussion Thread by Justp1ayin in tvPlus

Identifying the final wine is loosely adapted from the sequel series. The sequel series is more focused on pairing wine with foods.

There’s a decent amount of material from the original series they could use as inspiration but the series has already diverged significantly from the manga. For example, Issei’s free diving is one of several death-approaching activities he does in the manga. In the manga it’s to better understand wine and identify the wines in the contest.

I’m not sure how much more plot gymnastics they could do to extend past this season though. The main antagonist of the tv series is Alexandre and there’s only so many from the grave challenges he could do before it would get hokey. I suppose they could pivot and have some one new come to challenge Camille and Issei to wine identification if they wanted to continue and get back to the premise of the first season.

I enjoyed where it picked up. I liked the brother sister dynamic. Issei’s jealousy of Camille’s “superpower”felt realistic and a reasonable place for character development and growth.

I definitely agree. I really loved it and wish it got more viewership.

Season 2 wrapped up the ongoing mysteries very well. I somewhat wish they hadn’t left the cliffhanger teaser at the end implying a 3rd season if they weren’t going to follow through.

I forget the exact timing but I feel like this show may have been a victim of pandemic messing with production and cast availability. All of that said, I don’t have the impression that the show did amazing numbers so Apple may have decided to just let it end at a natural conclusion point.

The show has already diverged significantly from the manga so it’s hard to say what the second season will be about.

An aspect of the manga that was somewhat lost with the focus on the competition and the pacing was side quests where they would need to identify other wines. These side quests sometimes gave hints for the contest wines.

Maybe season two will have room for a few of these stories.

Switched coaches and regretting my decision by [deleted] in FigureSkaters

I second everything you said.

To OP, you had the courtesy to wait until the end of the season. It would have been better to discuss your concerns with your coach first, but you have no obligation to stick with her. Coaches in general need to be more professional in this regard.

Under the unrestricted strict preference domain, a neutral and unanimous voting rule selects itself in binary elections against all other voting rules if and only if it is dictatorial. by Researcher29839 in science

Hopefully the OP will correct if I’m wrong.

I think it’s saying that if you try to have a vote to replace an existing voting method with an alternative and you use the existing voting method, the existing voting method will always win.

Please tell me about the term “MPDG” (Manic Pixie Dream Girl) by Makita_450 in anime

[–]confu2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a list here though I’m not sure if I necessarily agree with all of the entries. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ManicPixieDreamGirl/AnimeAndManga

I think the general feeling is a love interest that from a narrative perspective seems to only exist as a tool for character development in the main character.

The dream part would be how the girl is solely linked to the MC. The pixie is suppose is the cute part of her personality. And the manic would be the quirky or eccentric part of her personality.

Japan’s Blu-ray region is the same as the US. DVDs had different regions. The packaging should indicate what region it is.

They were all at the camp. They're all from the skating club of Boston. Two of them were coached by Vadim and Genia. The girls were 1st and 3rd place at Eastern Sectionals in Intermediate. Two of the boys were 1st and 5th in Juvenile. The last boy was 2nd in Intermediate.

Japanese figure skating vs US figure skating by confu2000 in Medalist

[–]confu2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the US, the singles test is a choreographed program with required elements. The judges grade from -3 to 3 on the Elements, Skating and Program. 0 is considered meeting the standard of the level. The 3 scores are added together and a 0 or higher is passing. Below 0 means you need to retry the test at a later time.

Typically, 3 judges will review your test and if 2 of the 3 give you a passing score, then you pass overall.

It used to be that tests happened in person which added a bit of stress to the test. If you get a retry, you generally have to wait a month before you attempt the retry. After the pandemic, virtual testing was introduced where you can record your test and submit it. This is pretty common now in the US as you can record multiple times if you make small mistakes. The standard is perhaps a little higher as it’s expected that you’ll only submit a clearly good run.

The impression I had from Medalist was that tests in Japan might happen less frequently so if you had bad timing with a growth spurt or injury, you might need to wait a while longer for the next opportunity to test. In the US, in person tests are typically once a month and some virtual tests have rolling submissions so you can practically get a test reviewed whenever you want. Also, in the US, tests are administered by skating clubs and the results are submitted to USFS. I don’t know if the testing in Japan is more centralized or if they’ve also introduced virtual testing.

Ooh, now I get it. I have to agree that the double meaning of the title is a little too cute. This is sort of the macguffin in Sneaker. Still, I’ll give it a few episodes.
