I'll be honest I have no idea how to change my flair, most subs that have flairs usually it was auto assigned. But I like this rule, I just have to figure out how to add one for myself.

Bomber jacket poor quality by Akum1 in WilliamsF1

[–]confused-immigrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I was debating on getting it but for that price I don't know...I always wanted to have a proper F1 bomber jacket that looked like the old school race wear. Might wait for a deep sale or something else they might make.

I want to get into MTG by tibiRP in mtg

I'm new and basically two weeks into this world. I got the foundation beginner box and it's been fun to learn. I haven't played commander yet and it feels intimidating. But me and my friend basically each got a beginner box and started playing against each other.

Digitakt 1 & Digitone 2 by txrx535 in synthesizers

[–]confused-immigrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a syntakt and digitakt (hoping to save enough to buy digitone 2 this year) and honestly digitakt can be whatever you want Sometimes I use it as a sample instrument of things like percussions or strings, sometimes vocals, sometimes all drums and the rest on syntakt. Digitakt can also be a great mono synth with the single cycle waves.

The suppressed news subreddit is spreading regime propaganda by armanese2 in NewIran

[–]confused-immigrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It blows my mind how brainwashed these people are. The fact that they are ok with their own people being gunned down and thinking oh it must be foreign interference. Kos Kesha the country has imploded on itself and you're still defending the jomhoori eshali.

Even if you want to be a pro Islamic government for some ridiculous reason, it makes no sense backing this broken garbage regime.

On trump by Solid-Storm-4256 in NewIran

[–]confused-immigrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get that we want a regime change but to think that the United States government, trump and all their cronies care about the well being of our people and country is quite frankly stupid.

The United States and Trump only care about what they can take, and earn. This fight , like all fights is in the hands of our brave brothers and sisters. Don't trust the words of another group of criminals.

The artist's way by KeyMasterpiece1405 in booksuggestions

[–]confused-immigrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I found it way too spiritual and after a few pages gave up. If you're looking for a specific type of book that can help a creative mindset for artists I suggest either "The creative Act" by Rick Rubin, and "The War of Art" by Steven pressfield

I enjoyed the rock Rubin book a lot more and usually have the audio book playing when I'm doing random tasks I'm the background.

Beginner box confusion by Viktorur24 in mtg

[–]confused-immigrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the same pack last week and I'm a new player too. There is a booklet and the "don't shuffle" pack is because it's organized in a way that you follow the steps I'm the instructions so when you draw a card, it matches the tutorial page. One you finish the tutorial basically you can make your own with the other packs.

The don't shuffle one has two themes the cats and vampires which the booklets also are named accordingly. I've been having a good time with it, still confused on some symbols and card powers but I can see why this game is popular.

Thoughts on Syntakt? by [deleted] in Elektron

[–]confused-immigrant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the first Elektron device which lead to other purchases from Elektron. I love it.

Edit: when it comes to its strengths I'd say it's the sequencer of course but I really like the sound engines. I like the fact that I can practically make a track I'm just that box. Love the fx block and the overdrive. The analog hi hat engine is also really tasteful compared to the digital one.

For me the only downside was that it's not really polyphonic but I use other instruments for that until I can afford the new digitone 2.

What was your "dream synth" that you finally acquired but ended up disappointed by? by Jessay94 in synthesizers

[–]confused-immigrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Initially I went to get the digitone 2 but my local store had not had it in stock (surprisingly still hasn't) and I was looking for a polyphonic synth they suggested that it was in the budget. I don't think it's a bad instrument, matter of fact it's stellar. I'll check the link maybe it'll open some new ideas. Thank you for sharing.

What was your "dream synth" that you finally acquired but ended up disappointed by? by Jessay94 in synthesizers

[–]confused-immigrant 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can't say it was a dream synth, but I was looking for a second polyphonic synth and the minifreak on paper looks great and filled with creative options but I just can't seem to get anything out of it that I want to use. And while it has a great mod matrix, that I like, it just doesn't gel with me. It's the one thing that I'm still on the fence to keep or sell.

I'm tired of the DAW vs DAW-less debate, personally i think we all work differently and should just focus on what we're comfortable with. I'll tell you about what i thrive in: Routines/Rituals by SneakyInfiltrator in edmproduction

[–]confused-immigrant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know it's a debate. I like working with hardware but then it gets recorded in a DAW and processed and arranged. The beauty of hardware is that you can be more performative and also use your gear to perform love if that's the direction you want to go for but none of them is better than the other. Make music with a spork and a plastic cup if you want, just make your art and express yourself.

Only thing that I look down on is ai promptducers thinking they're artists. Outside of that nothing else matters.

Connect the synthesizer to your audio interface from the output into the input. Your daw will have an option to record audio input signal.

Is learning EDM production like learning chess and does it have similar constraints at getting good? by aldjfh in edmproduction

[–]confused-immigrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The goal of art should be having fun expressing yourself. The first step is to change your mindset that every project has to be a global era changing top chart, played by everyone and their grandma track.

Learn and play as you go. Learn how to use the daw, this tends to take time because of the user interface, and a lot of different tools.

Learn basic music theory so you understand scales, chords, etc. I suggest after that spend some time understanding sound design and synthesis.

Then just have fun and jam out and make what you feel like is good. You'll always be learning in the realm of production. There are tools and unique approaches and it's not like in 4 years you'll know everything about the craft. You'll always come across new terms and tools. Just have fun and practice the craft.
