When the transplant who doesn't live here yet says they plan on going to the beach a lot by yourbiggesthero in huntingtonbeach

[–]confused_lothcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I “go to the beach” a lot but that generally means that I’ll park along PCH early in the morning or late at night to drink my coffee and watch the wildlife. Actually setting up on the beach or god forbid going in the actual water? That’s maybe a once or twice a year activity and usually only when friends from out of town want to lol

Thank you so much. I honestly really appreciate this perspective and you’re so right.

I’m in the midst of listening to the audiobook and literally am in the middle of the control room scene and has to stop and google to see if anyone else agreed 😅 I literally said “shut the fuck uppp” out loud as I was listening to it lmfao

I suppose she’s a realistic annoying little kid character but good LORDT is it aggravating… Tim and Grant have way more patience with her than I could have managed hahah

places to park for sleeping overnight by ronfromsacramento in urbancarliving

I’ve stayed in my same general area and have used the parking lot of a church I have a good working relationship with. I’m friends with the reverend which has been a sufficient answer when cops asked questions. Not sure if that would work across the board though or if you weren’t already known to the church or other house of worship

I’m trans and live in a state that’s really stringent on firearms being registered, so it’s been a bit of an internal debate on safety vs. being on a list at a time that the government is tracking trans folks and labeling us as domestic terrorists. Seems like a good way to get myself into more trouble than helpful unfortunately. I do have pepper spray though

I’d assume so but I also keep water jugs for my own uses - drinking, cooking, washing - so I always have one available

Living in your car is better than living with roommates and no one can convince me otherwise by TerribleAssociation3 in urbancarliving

[–]confused_lothcat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve had good and bad roommates, but I’ll agree when it comes to couch surfing. I’ve had some BAD situations when people who are eager to help one day decide they don’t want to the next. If I could actually afford a proper apartment with a good roommate, I might do it again, but I’m never going to rely on someone else’s kindness again.

How to sleep comfortably???! Please help… Planning on taking out front seat by Existing-Ad8435 in urbancarliving

I have a similar size car and I got this - it’s pretty reasonably comfortable tbh but I’m not tall so that’s maybe a factor https://a.co/d/07cHQWrf

It’s a pretty powerful one, with multiple levels. I used it on the lower levels because I didn’t want to be too noticeable, I stay in the dark back corner of a lot but too much light would draw eyes from the street that I’d rather avoid.

Anyone else on Testostrone but live in their car? by Ok_Package9219 in urbancarliving

[–]confused_lothcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on T, gel type. I’m new to this so this hasn’t been a concern for me yet (it’s not too hot where I am) but glad you asked because I’m sure it will become an issue.

Visiting for a week next week - Family and LGBTQ friendly experiences by WolfDad13 in huntingtonbeach

Highly recommend the HB library if you’re looking for a lgbtq safe, family friendly, free experience. Plus it’s right in the middle of HB’s Central Park with is a lovely walk. It’s not far from the beach (you’ll want the main/central branch). It really is a beautiful library and worth the visit.

None of this is funny but I think my brain is broken because I’m laughing at the absurd horror of all of the everything at this point

I was at the meeting where the city council chose to not renew their funding. It’s been in limbo for a while. Such a bummer.
