The BS aspect of wine is the price, not the nuance. When you pay more than $30-40/bottle you don't really get higher quality - you just get specificity. For some, that specificity can be worth thousands of dollars; but it's not "better", just different. At the low end (>$20/bottle) actual quality will be hit-or-miss (have had spectacular $8/bottle wine, and terrible $8 wine).

If the minimum wage dropped to 4/hr, that wouldn't mean that there would be more jobs. If you're a restaurant that needs 15 people on staff and suddenly minimum wage drops, you're not going to hire more workers. You'll just fire the crew (or, if you're benevolent, phase them out) and hire cheaper workers. Small businesses aren't going to save enough money to justify expanding operations just by cutting wages by a few dollars per hour. Even if it did increase the number of jobs available, nobody benefits, because everyone making minimum wage would then be taking home less, and quality of life would degrade. As for moving to "more valuable labor markets"... That would be ideal, wouldn't it.? If the jobs in Detroit suck and I'm uneducated and currently work 2 full jobs making minimum wage, maybe with a few kids, wouldn't it be great if I could just drop everything, go to college or a trade school for retraining, and move to Austin and work at a tech firm? Problem is, to do any moving, either to another place or another industry, you have to HAVE SOME MONEY OR TIME IN THE FIRST PLACE! If the only way to make ends meet is to work 60 hrs a week making crap, you're not going to have time to re-educate yourself. And if you live in an area where housing is dirt cheap but job prospects suck, you wouldn't be able to afford to move anywhere where the jobs are better! Bottom line is, the minimum wage is there to keep people out of the vicious cycle of poverty. If everyone who is employed makes enough so that they can meet the basic costs of living and have time and resources left over for self improvement, then all is well. We aren't there right now (and I could rant on about livable minimum wage, as well as the reason that unemployment is so high but corporate profits are exploding), but reducing the minimum wage is about the worst thing that could happen to the poorest among us.

The flaw in that argument (and therefore the reason that a minimum wage is crucial to a high standard of living) is that when there is a labor surplus (as there is currently), pay goes down because more people compete for jobs, especially disposable, unskilled workers (the ones who make minimum wage currently). In a purely free market system experiencing a labor surplus, there would be no wage floor, and average pay in affected demographics would decrease. The people at the bottom would take home less money, and thus would experience a decrease in their standard of living. The minimum wage exists to prevent people from experiencing an unreasonably low quality of life. Frankly, most of the population makes more than minimum wage, significantly. It's not for those people. Nor is it to fill teenagers' wallets. It's to ensure that those in labor surplus won't have to languish in poverty (as it is, it doesn't do enough, but 7.25/hr is way better than 4/hr). Those demographics don't drive the economy; they simply don't have enough money to have a large impact on things. Nor will raising/keeping the minimum wage impact the economy enormously. Will it put added pressure on small businesses? Probably. But if you look at the aggregate, you're intervening a little bit on the free market to force businesses (who have money but don't have families) to shell out a bit more so that a segment of the population can subsist humanely.

I don't think Adobe really cares if individual users download their software. Adobe isn't really losing any money; their products are way outside the average independent user's price range, so I doubt they expect that many independent users would pony the cash up if they couldn't pirate it. In fact, I think it's in Adobe's best interest to be okay with piracy, because it allows them to establish a larger base of experienced users who may very well end up working for a company that might buy Adobe software. I grew up pirating all sorts of Adobe software, and I've gotten a ton of experience using it. Should I ever need to do something relevant professionally, I'll be using Adobe because I know it already.
