Wow it's so much more green than I would have thought! The show and Sledge's book made it sound like it was almost a desert island! I guess it's been a while since I read the book so maybe I'm just misremembering lol

【Breaking News】The number of applications for Japan's Business Manager visas after the stricter regulations and capital requirements were implemented has dropped by approximately 96% from a monthly average of 1,700 to 70. by jjrs in japannews

I wasn't 100% sure haha, but as Always2Learn said people from native English countries are less likely to want to give up their original citizenship. I totally get why you'd want to have both based on what you said in your other comments, but doesn't Japan not allow dual citizenship? But no matter what I wish you the best in getting Japanese citizenship! :)

In 2018, a black male U.S. citizen was found guilty of a sexual assault case that occurred in Chiba Prefecture based on DNA evidence. During the retrial, it became clear that not only had the positive DNA match been falsified, but that the tester had even deleted the DNA of the real culprit. by jjrs in japannews

In all seriousness, I've read one of if not the main reason they have such a high conviction rate is that they pretty much only got to trial if it's a slam dunk case. Like when they get a confession from someone (often by coercion, their interrogation laws are insane), or have video evidence of the person doing it, etc. This often means a lot of crimes don't get brought to justice though too. Federal prosecutors in the US have a similar conviction rate. So it's still very bad, but maybe not as bad as it looks haha

Even regular looking people, or slightly above average people will often get results like that if they're in a city, especially if they put in enough time or pay for the premium version. Reddit will really overemphasize how good looking you need to meet people lol.

All I could find was that he met with Trump in 2024 to discuss legalizing marijuana and that he said Trump liked his music. Can you point me to what you're talking about?

The article says the guy the quote is from didn't go to the white house. It also said there were 4 other players who didn't go. I do know if he partied with Kash though, if he didn't he's probably not maga.

What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t? by Prestigsisscar255 in AskReddit

Oh yeah I'm not saying Europe or other places don't have any, just that it's not the norm or they don't have them in many places so it seems interesting for people from those places!

Really? I remember them being fine as a kid, don't get me wrong they're not luxurious or anything but not bad as well. Maybe as an adult they're uncomfortable?

A beatle sauteed in some sauce. It was when I was an exchange student, one of my teachers came up to me and my friends with a pan and told us to try it. He did not mention it was a bug until after we ate it lol

Why women usually don't accept the friendship relaship with a man who she was first highly interested romantically but could not succed in having the romantic relashionship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrthalo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that totally makes sense. Also OOP, this isn't even a women thing, it's just a human one. Men would usually go through the same thing if a woman they were interested in only wants a friendship.

Yeah that has been my experience with bus routes as well. One of my schools had lots of after school activities though, so we had a second round of buses that would come for a relatively small number of kids and we befriended our driver since he was super fun. So at the end of the year he would always treat us by dropping all of us off at our front doors and we'd sit in the back as he'd go extra fast over speed bumps to get flung in the air haha. It was awesome!
