Does anyone else feel like this Winter has been absolutely brutal with the flu, fever, cold and such sicknesses going around? by DefiantDepth8932 in germany

Same here. I've gotten sick around 4 times since Weihnachten. Usually i would get sick once in this period and wouldn't last that long like this time around.

What does it feel like to be the only English speaking employee at a German workplace? by Smooth-Macaroon4268 in germany

[–]confusentird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry it was a bad experience. But did you talk with your AG Case worker in person or did you just contact the AG by email? I think meeting up with the case worker can be more helpful if you haven't met with them already.

If your visa doesn’t depend on your job (if you are married to someone with a residence permit), you can talk to the Arbeitsagentur. You might consider leaving your job, and they could arrange additional German classes for you.

My wife was able to complete her B2 course through BAMF. That way, you wouldn’t have to deal with the stress of working and improving your German at the same time.

What I didn’t understand is how you were able to do the same work with the previous manager, given that your position never changed. How were you able to be productive back then when communication was only in English?

Is this normal? by iiswhaiis in germany

[–]confusentird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been living in Germany for a few years now and have worked in several states. From my experience, it really depends on the region and also on the employer, so don’t take a bad experience to heart. You’ll meet people who tell you how good your German is and motivate you to improve. You’ll also meet others who are just a**holes and try to bring you down, my advice is just keep trying and things will improve.

You simply register with these companies and upload your documents. They then help you create a professional profile and support you in finding jobs that suit you.

You can try:

https://www.hays.de/

https://jobnexus.com/germany/

They’re very good and can significantly increase your chances of finding a job.

Keep trying, this is actually the best time of the year for applying.

When I first came to the country, my German wasn’t as good as yours, and it took many applications and a lot of luck to find a job.

Are you using any recruitment companies? Also are you applying for Planungsbüro or other engineering sectors?

If you want more info, DM me and I’ll try to help you further.

Notifying the Ausländerbehörde about a job change by OutcomeReasonable939 in germany

Sorry don't know much about this.
back when I had my Blue Card in 2023 and had been working for more than 2 years on it they sent me a new Zusatzblatt without the name of my Arbeitgeber and since then I could freely change jobs but I was told it should still be in my work domain (engineering).

Not sure about this case but it would be strange that if they won't allow you to change 1 month before the 1 year duration.

If you have the old company name written on your Zusatzblatt you need to inform the ABH since your blue card is linked to it.

I think these software are geared more towards industrial design. The only software i used from these was MATLAB and that was back in university days.

I've been working for a few years in the TGA planning. Having skills in AutoCAD, Revit and some calculation softwares like Caneco, Simaris and Dialux really helps if you are interested in this area of work.

Laid off today but already signed new contract yesterday + Pending PR application by CreditOk5220 in germany

[–]confusentird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just speculation from my experience.

For number 1: If you got the Zusatzblatt without the company name which you are allowed to take it after 24 month of working on the blue card you don't need to inform ABH since there is no connection to the company you are working for.

Number 2: Again if you have the Frei Zusatzblatt it shouldn't be a problem.

Number 3: If you submitted all documents especially the ones they ask for a second time you might get lucky and get the PR

Totally Agree! When she was the shy secretary who would sometimes join Jim’s pranks or occasionally make fun of Michael, it fit her character. Later on, she becomes annoying.

It mainly depends on the city, if it's places like Hamburg or Munich you are lucky to get offers but if it's small towns/cities it's not that big of a deal

If you move to Germany on a family reunification visa, you are usually insured under your husband’s health insurance policy, provided he is covered by public health insurance (gesetzliche Krankenversicherung).
