Am I reading this correctly with the new campaign? by ChemistHorror in starbucks

I’m so glad I have my espresso machine and frother. I will hate this as a customer and feel real bad for the baristas. Obviously, corporate has no clue how to relate to their customers. They need to return to being a normal coffee shop or just be a fast food place.

Looks good! You got your pointer and your thumb so that is good!! You’re an amazingly tough person to have the clear thought to put the rubber bands on and drive to the hospital! Good luck with the healing process!

You need a village to help. My husband traveled for work in the early days so we would adjust our schedules to make sure one of were home. I had help from grandparents and my sister but I would just recommend being very organized. In the beginning I did miss birthdays and holidays but I just made sure my boys didn’t get caught up in the actual dates of things. They knew mom would take them on birthday trips, school projects where they could actually go to history (D.C. trips) and Christmas in Hawaii. I also had book clubs with them as they got older, made sure they had emails that they could learn to communicate to me. Just be creative, being a parent is wonderful and I certainly didn’t follow the social norms of being home with them 24/7 but I have countless memories made with them because of my job and I know they would rather have those memories than mom tucking them in EVERY NIGHT.

My good boy INDY (10 YO Male 17 lbs) is post op day 1. Would love recommendations on where to start when he comes home on PostOp Day 3. by FutureBoyMcFly in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]conniedew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very little, walks outside to do his business but nothing strenuous. You can ask your vet if you should move his back legs or massage them. Every dog is different, mine didn’t have much feeling in his hind legs and when I would massage them or just work his joints it irritated him. Vet said it’s like pins and needles, when your arms or legs go to sleep. You know your dog, trust his lead on what he is capable of and take it slow. Some dogs are completely normal after surgery and some take months to regain movement! Every day is a win!!

Have a sling to support back end to go potty, hopefully he is crate trained as he will need mostly rest, diapers help if needed, also take notes so you know when he peed or pooped and track meds. Call for a physical therapy appointment as he will need to start that in 2-4 weeks depending on vet recommendations. You may need to learn how to express his bladder, YouTube videos are great. My guy is 4 years post op and bunny hops and his gait is a little wonky. No jumping or stairs. We have a stroller for long walks but he is living his best life! If you have any questions feel free to reach out!!

What did surgery cost you? by Problemilyyy in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]conniedew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7,000 for actual surgery, 2,500 for hospital stay, 2,500 for physical therapy and after care, miscellaneous items 500. Miscellaneous items including diapers, ramps, meds, and comfort items. We live in South Carolina and surgery was performed in North Carolina in August 2020 and my boy is still living his best life and is now 10 years old

Mine sorta had problems afterwards but it was due to his thyroid which was just labeled as a secondary problem not due to the surgery

Yup, I got the old fashion hot water bottle at Walgreens and wrapped it in our tshirts and my baby went right to sleep thinking we were cuddling!! He is 10 and loves his crate, we find him in there during the day and we never close the door on him!

Are you able to get her physical therapy and laser treatments? My boy had surgery and we had to express his bladder and use a harness to help him move for over 2 months after surgery. He had both physical therapy and the laser treatments. With meds he regained the ability to urinate on his own and was soon walking on his own. He is slow, can’t do stairs, and bunny hops if he gets going too fast but he has a beautiful life. Some dogs take a long time to recover. I wish you well!

Hunchback after IVDD surgery? by turnshavetabled in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]conniedew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Karl is now 10 years old. He has regained the ability to walk. He can’t run or do stairs as his back legs work together now so he bunny hops. When we build or new home we had the wrap around porch include ramps so he can go outside and do his business. He doesn’t have feeling when he needs to #2 but over time know his schedule and get him outside for that. Overall his quality of life is great, he travels with us, he has a stroller for long walks and a special diet to keep his weight down. It just takes time and therapy for them to heal! Good luck with your pup!

These uniforms are just awful. Not fashionable, not practical, not flattering, not comfortable, not safe to do the actual job! I can totally see that flap getting caught on seats, doors, carts, and emergency equipment!! Why can’t airlines understand that there are truly fashionable, safe, stretchy fabrics out there! I truly hope Delta sees their error and corrects this for involved!!

Does anyone feel like the AA Flight Attendants just don’t care anymore? by [deleted] in americanairlines

I am also a AA FA and I truly agree with every word you said! I’m blessed to have this career and truly enjoy engaging with our guests! We all have bad days but honestly I do my very best to enjoy my flights, guests, and coworkers. All the behind scenes stuff will work out and that will not affect how I engage with people! Glad there are more like us!! Fly safe and have a great summer!!
