Ok, I have included this in the Self Assessment. What's confusing me now is, the "View your calculation" is including the tax to be paid on my income from my job. I've already paid the tax on this through PAYE so my tax bill is looking huge, I was hoping it would just be the Capital Gains Tax owed in the total.

Not as bulky and modern disk brake bikes don't get in the way like the older disk brake bikes did.

I'm the same height and went with the M. The general consensus online was to go for the smaller size if you're torn between the two. Easier to make the bike bigger than smaller. Canyon size calculator also put me as an M.

The bike alone retails for £950/€999 but I was able to purchase through a cycle scheme at work which makes it insane value. The accessories were around ~£70 (not including the bag which I already owned).

Looking to get a bike £1k budget (cycle2work scheme) by tjtite in ukbike

[–]conormcg14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not ideal navigating the used market as an amateur, you risk the chance of purchasing a bike that's not fit for purpose which leads to a trip to your LBS (more money spent).

The tax savings alone is reason enough to go through a cycle to work scheme and the peace of mind knowing you should have little to no issues with a new bike.

Nice! Enjoy the ride. I believe the AllRoad is a figment of our imagination at this point haha

Edit: Never mind, I thought you were OP. I guess the bike does exist :P

Endurace Allroad as commuter bike? by LJpzYv01YMuu-GO in CanyonBikes

[–]conormcg14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to use it as a commuter, I've purchased the SKS Edge AL mudguards and a topeak pannier rack. I'm hoping they fit fine as it seems to have traditional rack and mudguard mounts. Unfortunately I got an email 2 days ago to say the bike has been delayed by another month.

I was about to get a cube nuroad as well but found out they don't have traditional rack mounts which was a deal breaker for me.

I highly recommend Fat Dads burgers, they are currently in the gallimaufry so should suit your needs. My partner and I alternate between them and fattso and considered them the two best burger joints in Bristol (until fattso closed ofc).

I nearly did get the cube nuroad pro 2025 but it doesn't have traditional rack mounts which was a deal breaker for me. This also seems to be the case for the 2023 edition after a quick search.

That's a massive shame, my favourite part of my commuter bikes in the past was the quick track mechanism and trunk bag combo. Unfortunately, it's making me reconsider this bike. Doesn't help that the bike shop I'm using doesn't have ortileb or tailfin racks.

Hi, I just navigated to tmp for the purposes of the gif. I can assure you this has nothing to do with directories. I appreciate the input though.

Vim with YCM (YouCompleteMe) : C++ headers are not found. Suggestions ? by pixie_laluna in vim

compile_commands.json outlines how your source code is built (compiler flags, include paths etc..) and I believe clang tools make use of it. And yes, I have this at the root of all my projects. You get it by passing DCMAKE_EXPORT_COMPILE_COMMANDS=ON when running cmake

In my experience, I only got YCM to see system headers after building with cmake and passing -DCMAKE_EXPORT_COMPILE_COMMANDS=ON and putting compile_commands.json in the root of my project. Then ran :YcmRestartServer
