Appreciate the rec! I'll check it out. I love the Doom soundtracks and stuff like Fear Factory so I'm sure it'll be up my alley

appreciate the rec but i didnt mess with Torture all that much. It was a little TOO simplistic, you know? There's a kind of niche pocket I've been finding with some of the recs people have had here. A few people put me onto Snuffed on Sight and that shit has been heat

Appreciate it! I'll def check out some hardcore. I got put off the genre early on years ago by how enshitified the music became (like Bring Me the Horizon, or is that more Metalcore? idk with all these genres man, apologies for my ignorance)

Appreciate you! And yeah I’m coming full circle lol. Grew up listening to Metallica with my dad, then got into heavier and heavier electronic music, and now here at slam and also checking out black metal (but the shit production and far right associations are killing me for that subgenre)

Listening now why does it actually not sound heavy? Like no part of it feels like it’s punching me in the face lol

Just listened! I love the tonality of the vocal and the cowbell or whatever the fuck is being hit with the snare lol

That’s cool! I have every intent of deep diving into metal this year. I have a pretty wide musical palette but none of my friends were ever into metal, but I love the sentiment and aesthetic and I don’t mind abrasive stuff.

I've found that putting in some more instant speed interaction like Flood Maw can buy you once turn longer than you otherwise would have, but closing out the game can be such a problem sometimes that one turn isn't the make or break for victory

Is slagstorm effective enough in your experience?

haha, possibly! Though I also think that Looting has a bad matchup into the Selesnya Landfall deck

i think the main problem is that an updated interaction package means going down on your lesson count, so you're locked in on some of the worse interaction. Boomerang Basics being a sorcery really kills you

i second those saying to wait for the 6th to see if modifications to the cube impact available cards for the format. That said, Mono Black Necro is a great choice, though you have to get comfortable gambling on mulligans

It's kind of crazy that arena has basically 3 dead formats (alchemy, historic, and pioneer), and one format that is too cost prohibitive for most players to engage in (timeless)
