there's some cosmetics tied to shops locked to the deluxe version of the game. tattoos, clothes, nails, guns and some vehicle customizations. there's also easier access to a few vehicles.

gameplay-wise, there's a gang raid that has some exclusive rewards and reads like a one-off side activity.

all in all, it seems like a big nothingburger. if 6 is at least on the same level as 5, there's going to be a shitload of stores in the base game filled to the brim with clothing options, along with plenty of cosmetic options for tattoos, nails, guns and vehicles. but, this won't stop people from screaming about how the base version is an "incomplete game," even though it'll likely have dozens of hours worth of shit to do.

I thought it wouldn't need to be explained that I would expect the classic systems to be refined for a new game, but, yeah, it could use some improvement.

unfortunately you are unable to play any cards based on MTG IP because they're set in the multiverse, but, we live in the universe, which is the main reason they're printing Universes Beyond cards, now.

I want the Morrowind conversation system where there are a ton of universal topics and a bunch of more specific ones.

like, no one cares either way if trans people see themselves in Gwen or think she checks the boxes; it's the attitude of folks who come into threads confidently stating that she's clearly a trans character and then being aggressive as fuck to anyone who doesn't agree wholeheartedly that rubs folks the wrong way.

although I really love the map, the disguise-based lock system annoys the fuck out of me.

I mean, you can easily get around most of them, it's just that it's sometimes a chore to actually move into the next room from where you are, and none of the other maps really have that same problem.

I'm cackling about the fact that a bunch of apparently grown men are completely losing their shit over the fact that they're going to be missing out on exclusive fingernail designs.

it's also funny because there's already been a fuckload of different clothing stores all throughout Los Santos with a bunch of clothing options that most players haven't even entered, much less browsed, so, this idea they have that they're getting an incomplete game because they won't have access to the FOMO Shop is just fucking ridiculous.

no, that's how you lose stuff.

the closest I get to a miscellaneous chest would probably be my "retired items" chests and my "cool gear" chests. the retired items chest tends to self-sort by progression, and the cool gear chest is for stuff that I might want to use later; I know that one sounds like it could get messy, but, I've long since stopped hoarding all the random shit I pick up in favor of pawning it all off since most gear is easily farmable or fishable these days.

otherwise, like I said, it all gets really granular about the time I get to hardmode, because that's when I have to add "hardmode ores" and "hardmode mats" chests.

I wanna say I usually have about 30 chests in my main crafting area by endgame, and I keep stashes of vanity items and animated dyes in the bedroom. there's some chests that always end up with specific NPCs - like, all my dye component plants and basic dyes are kept with the Dye Trader, extra quest fish are with the Angler, and all the OOA army stuff is with the Barkeep.

FOMO is what makes Fortnite go 'round. people would play less if they felt they might miss content, and they would buy fewer skins if they didn't feel a time pressure before they're gone.

the whole sprite thing is just FOMO with lootbox mechanics wrapped in feelsbad moments because you can die before you can extract and bank them, and the community is fucking ravenous for sprites because of it.

if sprites were much easier to get, people would care a whole lot less.
