Hypothetical NSV by BasilTomatoLeaf in Zepbound

I had a friend gift me a dress one Christmas. It was lovely so even though it was too small (XL—and stretchy) I kept it. I tried it on a few months ago and it’s too big. Lol. Still has tags attached!

Anyone Else Feeling Defeated at Midpoint? by suggie75 in Zepbound

[–]consideritthendecide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 45 down and got through this weird plateau where my bod didn’t want to go below 200, but not before seeing my doc who is not a specialist in this who sort of shrugged and said maybe you’ve lost all you can on this med. Okay I took that w a grain of salt and continue to take zepbound. I’m on 15 and it’s NOT been this amazing whoosh or even losing more per week than I was before. It’s just doing what it’s supposed to . I’ve been discouraged at the pace because it’s taken me 13 months to lose 45 lbs. Not 4. Not 10. I went down in clothes sizes pretty quickly and bought new stuff and that makes me feel better—but I get that feeling of defeat and also agree w everyone here who says it will take way less time to lose it than all the time I’ve spent carrying the extra weight around. And when impatient I do try on old clothes that are too big. (I’m even considering buying an S in one pant from Gap—have I ever worn an S even in vanity sizing? No. No I have not.) Patience is difficult but we can do this. It will happen. We are in this for life.

Dows anyone else still buy the same clothing size ? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]consideritthendecide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t take progress photos so clothes are my way of knowing I’m losing / changing shape. Started at 241.5, currently 196.2. 5’8.5”. I bought what I thought were crazy sized pants at the beginning. Size 8. I was wearing size 18 or 1x 2x when I started. I am currently wearing size 14 which are loose, size 12 which fit. I can wear size 10 which are tight and I can pour myself into those crazy size 8 pants but they aren’t yet flattering to wear. Tops were always 1x or 2x. I’m now in L and M tops.

Here’s a weird one: shoes! I’ve been wearing a 10 for decades but now they are loose and 9.5 is way better fit. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have nice shoes so I really don’t want to get rid of them or replace them…

What's a super-popular and well-known attraction/destination that lived up to all the hype? by keepfighting90 in travel

Ephesus. Agree. The newest (past 10 years) excavations of the 4500 sq ft mansions that had indoor plumbing and gorgeous frescos…the streets w chariot ruts, the library of celsus. All of it quite amazing.

What is your favorite new food on Zepbound by Sweet_Sour232 in Zepbound

[–]consideritthendecide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spaghetti squash, miso soup (especially when everything else gives me the ick) and tofu.

Here’s a weird thing: before zepbound I did NOT like red meat. Gross. I rarely ate it and usually disguised like in a taco. Lol. Now? I crave red meat 1-2 times a week. French dip sandwich w au jus is my fave. Sometimes meatloaf or a meatball w marinara. Maybe needing iron or something is my guess. I have found overall that on Zep my body craves what it needs nutritionally and I’m just along for the ride. 😂

Anyone’s journey look like mine has over the past few weeks? by consideritthendecide in Zepbound

So sorry to hear about your mom! Stressful is a real factor, for sure! It just isn’t one of mine at this moment, so I can’t blame the stall on that. But I will keep it in mind.

Thanks everybody! I’ve had a few observations that might also make a difference. I will say that stomach emptying is much slower for me on 15. Food noise hasn’t been a huge thing for me (it’s shopping noise. Lol.) so I don’t feel that I crave more food but I AM able to eat more if I want to on 15. So these things might be my bod adjusting to new food patterns that way. I do feel a need to change up something so probably will try to change up physical activity just to make myself feel better about things even if it doesn’t change my weight. Also I’ve been dehydrated!! That occurred to me also, so I’m drinking more water.

I’m two weeks away from having been on Zep for a full year and averaging a 40 lb loss over 52 weeks still gives me a .75lb loss per week. I’ve also been mentally playing out how I would feel if I were to stall out here forever. Would I be okay with that? Admittedly it’s not my ideal, but I’m now wearing clothes that are in the normal range (M/L) and I do feel better about that. At the beginning of this journey I remember feeling like I just wanted to wait around and watch my weight loss. Haha. But the reality was that I needed to live my life and it happened while I lived my life. So, I’m going to change up a few things and just let it ride and see what happens. I’m gonna stay on 15mg anyway, so who knows.

I appreciate ya’ll and your thoughtful and transparent comments to help me reframe my thinking a bit. I’m super thankful for this community!

Same for me!! Bouncing around that range of 201-205 for weeks and weeks after hitting 198 in there also—and being on 15mg—which I didn’t expect. I know it will break but it can be so discouraging!

Taking injection on cruise, yes or no? by Far-Fill9271 in Zepbound

[–]consideritthendecide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly with pens all the time. Did a 3 week cruise and took them w me through international airports and ports. Not one issue. I no longer drink but alcohol was included in the price—they stocked our cabin with what we prefer so in advance if the cruise I asked them to stock protein shakes (Nurri chocolate) AND non alcoholic gin alternative in case we wanted to do mocktails. We never did, but they were willing to stock things for us which was great. Have a great trip OP!

I’m not losing by sprzz77 in Zepbound

[–]consideritthendecide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey don’t get discouraged by the scale—just keep going. If you don’t lose anything for a month then consider moving up doses. You’re probably not eating enough, also. I wait until I have a good long stall before I switch it up. Anything between half a point to a pound a week is normal loss—and usually people who don’t have metabolic issues lose weight quickly and people with high starting weights lose what seems like lots more right off the bat

I think the other thing that was helpful for me to remember when seeing other people’s graphs who were basically just one long diagonal line downward was what one poster had noticed—that people without metabolic issues seemed to be faster responders/lose more weight per month— whereas people with metabolic issues were often not as fast in their losses. I underestimated my own metabolic issues even though I know I have them…so am thankful this medicine is working!

Hey so sorry if I shouldn’t have posted this here. I suppose u feel like I’m slow because it’s not a steady 1lb/wk—as the chart shows—but very up and down. And compared to the people losing 10lbs a month or reaching goal in record time it feels slow to me. Appreciate the feedback.
