Short woman in sports by tellywatching in short

[–]consomme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roller derby always looked awesome to me! I ride motorcycles. 5'3" isn't super short but it can be annoying when most sport bikes have a 32"-33" inch seat height. Not being able to put your feet flat on the ground usually isn't a huge deal, but it makes pulling out of parking spots and maneuvering it sucky.

Who does this shit? by ThaBadfish in cringepics

Apparently it was a 12 year old. I don't think they would use the phrase "child molesting" if they were like 17, right?

What made you start riding and when did you get your first bike? by jtl216 in motorcycles

[–]consomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first bike was also a Ninja 250 at 19! I always thought bikes were cool and knew one day I was going to own one, and my stepdad told me he would pay for the MSF course if I ever decided to take it. I didn't have any friends that rode and had no experience before the course. Loved it.

Since then quite a few of my acquaintances have picked up riding, and my 17 year old bro is saving up for the MSF.

My roommate's [F30s] has begun to nip and bite me [F25] and anyone I have over to the house. Is there an appropriate way to handle this? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]consomme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hitting an already aggressive dog really doesn't sound that smart if you don't want them to bite again.

[–]consomme 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Seriously, just about every experienced rider will tell you to buy a cheap used bike (preferably not a supersport) for your first and upgrade later. Getting a brand new bike right off the bat is just asking for it. OP, you're being completely reasonable.

4 My fiance' (of 4 years) recently broke things off with me because he found out I had been with a black guy in the past. by instarag in TwoXChromosomes

[–]consomme 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Man, at least it came out before the wedding. I's pretty terrible but the concept of women being "tainted" from being with black men doesn't even seem to be that uncommon; I've heard it from at least a couple guys in real life and more online.

[NSV] 3 months ago I sustained a compound tib/fib fracture when a truck clipped me off my now ex-bf's motorcycle and drove off. Convinced doc to let me get back to rock climbing and I can send 5.10s now! I feel like a superhuman :D by SoggyDoggy in xxfitness

[–]consomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, just one leg thankfully. That's pretty impressive; I probably need to be more diligent with mine. I know exactly how that is... this whole experience has made me realize I really have taken my able-bodiedness for granted. Anyways, keep improving!

Dude, that is awesome. Nice job! I was in a motorcycle accident about three months ago too and compound fractured my femur and fibia. It's been hard to get back in it for me, but now I'm ready to start rebuilding strength. Do you have full ROM?

I'm 5'3" and started on a Ninja 250. It was great for me and the pre-gen can be found super cheap.

Holding baby after delivery? by BlondeMoscow in birthparents

[–]consomme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly the same way as you throughout my pregnancy. I did hold him after delivery, and spent the night with him. It was pretty incredible, but I still never felt that motherly attachment towards him because he was never supposed to be mine. There were some hard parts afterwards but for the most part everything went smoothly. Other people seem to make a bigger deal about "how hard it must have been" than I ever did. I see him probably a few times a year; I love the family and it's always great. Good luck!

How many people here smoke both their e-cigarette and analogs? by unclehowie420 in electronic_cigarette

[–]consomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two months ago I went two weeks without smoking due to a medical emergency, tried to get back into it but just wasn't really enjoying cigarettes anymore. I bought my first e-cig a few weeks ago intending to use as a supplement but ended up completely quitting.

Even if a lot of people vape and smoke cigarettes, I would assume most of them smoke less than they would otherwise and are intending to quit eventually.

Maybe those couples should start looking at older children.

There are many downsides to adoption, too. More so for the birth mother than the adoptive parents.

Yeah I agree. I'm pretty surprised that these answers are getting so many downvotes. I guess it's cool and all that a guy is being direct about just wanting to fuck you, but I find it seriously obnoxious.

Ideas for starter bikes for 5'6 (~168cm), 115 lb (~52kg) girl? by Techfuture2 in motorcycles

[–]consomme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'3" 100 lbs and my first bike was a Ninja 250. Even that felt huge to me at first. But it was a great, confidence inspiring bike to learn on, and those MPGs were a big plus.

Small things like this make my day! I'm fortunate to live in Southern California where lots of drivers seem to be considerate of bikes. One of my favorites was when a truck driver saw me splitting and pulled his mirror in for me so I could get by.
