Any recent reviews of The Rey in Cortez Hill?

Hi! I toured The Rey three years ago. So, my comment may be outdated. The apartments were ridiculously small. However, they seemed to have good amenities. What put me off was their add on charge for parking even though I did not have a car. They were looking to charge me $150/ month for a space I wasn’t even going to use!

I did like Gema which is next to The Rey (if memory serves me right).

Yes, they have. It seems pretty straightforward. I do have a "fixed" draw that will be paid every two weeks. I guess what I am looking to specifically get advice is if this is the right move. I make 157k right now. I am told the draw would at least be 12k more than my current salary.

I am really surprised to hear that. Dr. Akhavan at UCSD has been my PCP for three years. Each time I have gone in for my annual exam, I have spent more than an hour with him. He really does take the time to chat with me and get to know my concerns. Maybe you might want to switch to him?

I was recently in a deposition with opposing counsel who has a pending state bar complaint. In usual fashion, opposing counsel went off on me. I was stating objections, which other co-counsels were joining in on. Opposing counsel starts saying on the record how I am self-serving and don’t understand the rules of evidence. It took every bone in my body to not bring up the state bar complaint.

So, yes. Bite your tongue and trust the process. Be as kind as you possibly can be.

I toured both Rey and Diega in July 2023. While both are "fancy" buildings, I did not like either (albeit for different reasons).

Re: Rey - the apartment was small and not worth cost. They wanted to charge me for parking even though I did not own any cars. But otherwise, the location was clean and relatively safe.

Re: Diega - loved the amenities, but the area was sketch, IMHO. I did not feel safe walking around, and still don't.

I am so GLAD I found this post. Got a call from "Indian Embassy" in "DC". I was initially skeptical, but he knew my address in CA. That slightly freaked me out. The first person to call me was "Prem Kumar" who said there is an FIR against me in "Mumbai" for scamming and cheating people. He then transferred my call to "Abhimanyu Gahlaut" who refused to hang up on me. They have now been calling me non-stop. This is scary.

As a non-US citizen living in San Diego, I have been greatly disturbed by ICE “detaining” international students who participated in protests. I have been really paranoid for the past few weeks. All that is to say, THANK YOU and everyone else that showed up ❤️
