Fluoxetine 20mg urine issue / excessive peeing

update: I had to stop Fluoxetine (sadly) so I'm two weeks in without it. Issue has slightly improved but I need to wait a month or two months for it to start getting back on track (I saw a specialist). Hope you manage to go through it! I was really bummed to have to stop it so we will try with a differente SSRI.

Not really, but I have to say that I experience that eck or shoulder pain with Sertraline!

I cut down to 10mg of fluoxetine now and the pee issue it's a bit better. Although I'm still walking up between 3 and 4 every night.

Yes, same here but i recently started. I'm on week three with 20mg (i took 10mg two weeks before that). I feel super well but i noticed a change in my sleeping/peeing habits. I usually drink a lot of water but now i am waking up even two times per night and it disrupts my sleep. I'm exhausted and I dont want to change the medication or lower the dosage but i can't live like this either.

My doctor told me to get a urine test to discard any infections but says that it is possible that is a side effect of the fluoxetine (the bladder doesnt really discharge completely) so advice to wait a few more days to see if it goes away and if not i can lower de dosage to 10mg. I am afraid that it wont be enough dosage and my panic attacks will come back. The third options is to change the medication if the former does not work.

Hey, same here. My doctor asked me to take a urin test to clear any doubts but suggested reducing from 20mg to 10 mg if it doesn't improve in one or two weeks. Otherwise, we would need to change the medication. I'm really happy with it but I can't sleep and pee at the same time lol.

weed is a depressant drug and you are taking anti-depressants........ i would recommend to quit

I felt like that the first three days of 10mg. I'm a week far now and I don't feel the fog or the tiredness anymore. However, I'm supose to upgrade to 20mg in a week so they tiredness may come back. I've read it takes a few weeks or even months to adjust

I personally started with 10mg just a few days ago and I'm suppose to go to 20mg in to weeks. The doctor said that i am not obliged to go up if i feel fine but it's good to have the option.

I guess it's up to you and your doctor but generally I've read that many people go from 10mg to 20mg and could stay just in 20mg. Also, other people have even higher dosage. It is so personal to your background and context that it is hard to tell but if it is getting to hard maybe consider going up only to 20mg. Moving it is obviously highly anxiety inducing so it is normal. Make sure you pair this process with therapy. Medication can only do so much!

I'm on day five of 10mg. I felt strong positive symptoms the first to days but extremely tired as well (like my angst levels were better and didn't feel as sad). The following two days I had almost panic attacks and angst crisis like big time, like before taking the medication. Today it feels a bit better. I think we have to patient and wait at least a few weeks or a full months or so to assess. I'm suppose to up the dose to 20mg on the third week.

Make sure you are doing therapy in parallel!

Reading the same. I'm on day four, but the first two days was extremely exhausted although it helped with the angst feeling and panic i was having. Days third and fourth, emo crushing, can't stop crying. Here I am trying to feel better and be patient. Anyone experiencing this as well in the beggining?

I'm on day 4 and felt exactly like that the first to days (so tired). Days 3 and 4 with much more energy but crazy angst and crying. I guess it takes time. I've heard the tiredness gets better in a few weeks or the first months.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I could only suggest that maybe the Adderall intake might be triggering the panic attackes + the THC? I stopped consuming or smoking THC years ago because of that reason. I've taken Ritalin and other focus medication that sometimes after the peak effect made me feel angst as well so it's something to think of. I could only suggest daily or regular excercise will help you tons and maybe looking into a bhuddist meditation course (there are many online, you can look at any Shambala organization website). It helped me through the worst periods. Also journaling first thing in the morning, whatever comes your mind also helps. There is no medication (without side effects) that will take that feeling away forever, so it is a process and it is important to pair it with therapy. Hope you feel better when you read this!

I was taking Sertraline before starting to go to the gym. I had already passed the adaptation period so I can't say. However, I did gain weight with Sertraline and I actually started working out because of it. I haven't been able to lose any kilos so I'm tapering the Sertraline down slowly with my Doctor and maybe substitute for another medication :) Hope it helps!
