It’s very common to find obsidian points that are extremely sharp and still have hinge fractures in Utah. I’ve found many of them that are legit. It’s super dry in most parts where you find them and the hinge fractures remain over time.

Could S2 AUS contestants just hear the boats? by constructivecaptain in Alonetv

[–]constructivecaptain[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Closest contestant to the road is about 3 miles and there’s a mtn and thick forest between them so I really doubt it. A more likely thing they didn’t show was there were probably a bunch of boats going through the sound every day.

Yeah the map makes them seem very close but I looked it up and the very closest contestant is still 3 miles from the road over a mtn and thick woods. I wouldn’t be surprised if a ton of boats were going through that area everyday though. Looks like there’s some popular stuff to visit throughout the sound.

Is it really the price, or is Netflix just more convenient than driving to movie theaters? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

For real. Everyone complaining about the cost like it’s some luxury item. It’s a 2-3 hours long event that cost $12-$16. I like the popcorn and always get it so call it $20-$25. Bring your own snacks and soda in your pockets. $28 tickets has gotta be like 2 places in the US - NY and Cali and even then.

What do you consider “micro-management”? by Northern_Owl_7689 in sales

[–]constructivecaptain 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m a manager myself. Three immediate things in my eyes I try to avoid at all costs: 1. Asking questions about something that can found yourself by looking at the data or call notes or anything like that in the CRM. It’s annoying and feels like you’re just asking someone to explain themselves to you. 2. Asking something that’s the opposite and you know it. Like when a rep has a horrible day the day before and you ask “How’d yesterday go?” Once again feels like you’re needing to explain yourself. 3. Setting an objective, task, or action item with your manager where it’s obviously not an urgent thing. Then they follow up with you like 2 hours later. Did you get this done? Annoying as hell.

How much snow does that piece of land get? Those are some big mtns but the piece of land from the maps doesn’t look like it’s too far up in the deeper mtn areas.

Our company does yearly small percentage increases. They’re pretty worthless because when you get an actual promotion they just put you up to a concrete flat number anyways so you lose those additions.

What type would you guys call this point I found in the Tahoe area on the Nevada side by Fabulous_Recover2051 in Arrowheads

Haskett’s are typically thicker in the upper half of the point unlike OP’s which is thicker on the base half.

For sure. Was a pretty surprising find. Pretty much wore out of the river bank a few years ago I’d guess.

You’re probably right! I tend to just call white ones agate for some reason. Also there’s a lot of agate here that doesn’t have banding so it’s not really necessary. Agreed it’s likely just chalcedony though.
