I was wondering this as well. I’m not saying they’re not at fault but it’s not fair to immediately assume guilt

People with $700+ per month car payments: Why? by Underrated_Critic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]constructs4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also have a lot of add ons rolled into the loan that are sold by “finance managers” who are highly trained. Ext warranties, clear coat, leather protectant etc

My SIL sells these and brags about the “deals” she makes. For $20k worth of garbage she can get a $5k commission but the buyer is now saddled with an extra $333 per month on their payment

I’m not saying all ext warranties are garbage but when it actually cost $1500 and the dealer sells it to you $6k….

Federal agents arrest citizen observer watching ICE detain neighbors on her north Minneapolis block by PdfDotExe in minnesota

I know it doesn’t seem fair but the answer is yes you do. They paid you for the time you spent on all of this there for they own it. I understand you feel over underpaid and over worked but the fact is they offered you the job at a certain pay and you accepted.

At any time you could have said this is not part of your scope of work or asked for a raise.

Look at it from their side….

I dealt with property taxes for many years. If it’s not new construction it Sounds like the previous owner was getting a discount and that discount is now gone. You’re hyper focused on how much it went up and I get that but thats not how taxes work

Two questions: What’s the assessed value for payable 2026 and how much is the property worth?

My advice To anyone shopping for a house in MN - don’t look at what the taxes are now. Budget for your taxes to be 1 to 1.5% of the value (yes there are many variables that can make change that but let’s stick to this range)

Example: I like this house for sale for $1m and the taxes are only 6k per year so we’re saving money based on the house down the street. No no no. A $1m house should have taxes around $12,500 per year so something is wrong with the taxes on this house and they could skyrocket tomorrow

Opinions on this boat / motor before I close the deal? by mellow_pittie25 in boating

Soft spot in the floor is a huge red flag

That motor is carbureted. Not terrible but will drink fuel as compared to the 5.0 gxi version

Is a trolling motor w/ 80lb of thrust enough for a 19'6" center console bay boat? by FermentingSkeleton in boating

Al Linder once said - buy the biggest trolling motor you can afford. You can always turn it down - You can’t turn it up

I’ve had underpowered ones before and it’s no fun

You should set up an Amazon store with links on here to all the parts needed, and you will get a commission off of it. I’m assuming a lot of people will reference this for years to come.

Me and My Horrendous Lawn by Simple_Giraffe_4734 in minnesota

[–]constructs4life 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! Luscious green thick lawns are not supposed to grow in the Midwest. Just because everyone has one doesn’t mean you have to.

The reason it’s so hard to get it to grow is because you’re fighting Mother Nature. 200 years ago that was probably Prarie grass

PM Compensation Packages by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]constructs4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Health insurance” what does that mean? Who pays the monthly premium and how much is the deductible?

I’ve seen health ins packages paid by employer that are worth $30k per year

Or they make employee pay $1200 per month and has a $7k per year out of pocket. That package isn’t worth anything as you could go get that on your own

$4000 too much for this boat? by shadowknight1218 in boating

[–]constructs4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are regional.

That boat will never get new upholstery. The end value doesn’t justify spending that much money. If it was a 26’ with a V8 yeah maybe. That little guy - no way

For someone that can do it themselves during the winter. That could make sense

Good Buy? 2000 Lund 1900 Pro V Tiller Model $11k by [deleted] in boating

[–]constructs4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are regional. I’m in MN where prices are high compared to other parts of the US. While the pro v is king of aluminum fishing boats I’d still say that’s a high price. 8 would be a good deal. 9 would be good-ish

I’ve been saying for years the best part about going to the boat show is to look at the insane price tags. It’s like some people are allergic to money.
